I have noticed that my celebrities float better than my connies. The celebs are much more powerful so I think that's why.
Sometime I'll have to dig out my green one when I'm at my dads and take some pics.

Did you say the green one was like the yellow and red ones, or is it like the blue and chrome one?

My green one has wheels, two tone green. with power nozzle port 2.6 hp if I remember right.
Pretty close to this one on ebay, except not as nice. But this one is not a power nozzle model.
The only green floaters I have even heard of were power nozzle models.
Hope your not on tender hooks waiting for a pic.

No, I don't mind looking at the links. I can't instantly put my hands on a lot of things myself, so you will have pictures when you're able. Both of the vacuums in the links are fascinating. The green two tone is my favorite of the two, even though the blue one has the power head.

Did you look closely at the blue one on Ebay? Did you notice hose the power nozzle cord connects from the hose to the machine? It looks as if it is "hard wired" directly into the machine. There is no plug that I can see. That can't be right! It almost looks rigged, but then again I may be wrong.

What do you think?

We may both be wrong, but it does look hard wired in.

I would guess that the blue one had a plug at some point. But it was broken maybe? It does look hard wired in now. I can't imagine someone cut that hole perfectly square if it was "rigged up".
Based on the screws in the power nozzle I'd bet somebody played with it.
Now that I think about it, I have never seen a Hoover with the cord outside the hose before. My theory is that the original hose was trashed so they found a regular hose and an aftermarket cord. The plug was too big to fit in the socket so someone hard wired it in. By jove I think you've got it Holmes.

Yep, that sounds right to me!

Actually that model did come with a cord on the outside of the hose (I have one) but there should have been an outlet on the vacuum. Its obviously been removed and the cord wired in. This picture doesnt show the cord or powerhead but you can see what the outlet was like.
