I just recently acquired what looks like an unused set of convertible 1011 basic attachments in the original box. What I found odd is the hose, in seal griege, is an ultra-flex hose, similar but shorter than a Constellation hose of that time. I haven't seen that since the introduction of the convertible attachments in the late 50's. Has anyone else seen this before?

They first made them with a SEPERATE

converter. Then, it was the "usual" attached. Tuflex came out AROUND '64. My 2 aunts had tuflex with their 69 and 70 models. I LOVE those tools. Tuflex went into the 'front conversion'. Then, they went to "pool filter hose".

It’s really a shame that Hoover decided to make the converter and hose all one piece. I use my Cleaning Tools with my Convertibles often and have sucked up some big messes and clogged the converter. When this happens I use a canister to clear the clog. Really wish Hoover had kept the Ultraflex for use with the Dial-A-Matic.

Rick, I have an Ultraflex hose in brown that must have been made for 1010. I would really like to see the Ultraflex in seal griege that hose must be a real rarity.

Somehow I got something stuck up far enough in the hose that I could not get it out. I did not have the wherewithall at the time to get the whole thing apart, so I went to the "Authorized Hoover Dealer" in the Marina District of San Frnacisco. Long story short, I did not see the hose OR my vacuum again (yes, he wanted the vacuum too) for almost 3 months. He kept making one excuse after another to not get the problem solved and my machine returned. I reported him to the Better Business Bureau. When I got it back, I had "bad feelings" about the whole thing and sold the vacuum to a couple I knew. Oh what a mistake!
