So, about 2 weeks ago the cord re-wind on the Hoover Aria had just had it, but the machine ran fine! But I wanted to get all the cable around, so I didn't have to drag the whole machine over to the nearest socket. The problem with the re-wind was a coil which was jamming the cable re-wind from working properly. This was taken out and the cord reeled out just fine. To my horror after removing this coil the machine wouldn't turn on. Soon after, I found out this coil was part of the electrical circuit to the motor. (such a poor design!)
So, I have set myself a challenge to bridge over we're the coil was in order to make the machine work again. However, the wiring is sooooo overly complicated, mis-coloured, and just generally makes no sense to what I'm used to on YDKs or other motors alike.
There are now a total of 4 wires to wire up in order for the machine to work. Here's an overview inside the motor compartment...
