Hoover and Eureka Cleaning Tool Sets!

Hey guys I would love to do a little interesting review on a couple sets of tools for vintage Hoovers and Eurekas, I got both of these sets last year on eBay starting with the Hoover tool set for my concept one I got last year (I'll get a chance to do a post real soon), so anyways I hope y'all enjoy these pics!

First I have a Hoover tool set for the convertible and concept vacuums, this is originally for concept ones but I figured that this can also be used for other vintage Hoovers like the convertible, (I'll mention that later), dial a matics (I need the hose for it), concept II of course, and decade 80 & 800, so yeah I think that's about it.

So here I have a tool converter for the later convertibles and decades (which I hope to get soon), I got this on eBay last year when I got my 1st convertible, the convertible high performance, and the only problem it has is the rubber seal is trying to come off, it looks like glue gun glue but this is actually original. So help me vacuum friends, what should I use? Decent weatherstrips? But anyways I would love to try to find another Convertible hose like the original hooverflex double stretch hose where the converter slides into the back, as well a double stretch hose for my dial a matic, once it will work again.

Last year, I also got a new Hoover all purpose brush for about $5 on eBay, I was hoping it would be white but it's kinda gray, but I actually like the older style all purpose brush from the 60's-70's.

It also came with the original tool set manual too!

It also a date stamp on the box. Dated May 9,1984.

Last but not least, here is the tool set for vintage eureka vacuums, when I got this it was originally a 6 piece, so I made it into an 8 piece by adding a 12 in tool converter and an extra wand, and soon I'll get a floor brush to go with it and the reason why I got this because it had a 16 in tool converter for wider head Eureka vacuums and I figured that they are rare so I got the tool set on eBay too,after that I also brought the 12 in converter and wand and the tools are in really great shape. I also got a new box from work for the tools because the original one was all torn up.

Both converters have worn sealing too, when I touch them, they disintegrate. Once again, decent weatherstrips?

They come off very easily. It's like the tools were only meant to be used once a year and that's it. I’ve had the locking mechanism completely fall off the Hoover front conversion tools before. </span></p>

I use my uprights with tools quite frequently. I just wish they would have done a better job with the seals. The front conversion tools for the first Elites were complete crap! No seal on the converter whatsoever!</span></p>

Yeah, the earlier Hoover Convertible tool adapter that connected at the rear of the machine was far superior in terms of design, materials and ease of use. I had the full toolkit of this older design with my early '70s vintage tan and green "Brady Bunch" Hoover.

For a replacement seal on the newer plastic hose adapters, why not just lay down a thick bead of silicone sealant. Just don't attach the adapter to the vacuum cleaner until the sealant dries completely.

I remember I found a set for my mom's Concept One. Didn't use them much as suction was not great. They had the plastic handle with ring lock.

I love the old Hoover attachment sets, particularly the rear conversion type with the metal handle. The attachments were great quality.

The Eureka ones are nice as well, they're the same as the ones with my Mighty Mite but in white instead of black.
