After many, many months of trying, I finally came home with the Hoover Model 634 I have been coveting for quite a while. It was a trade in from long ago at an old vac shop about an hour away from me. It was filthy, so I cleaned it up, polished it, and laundered the bag. I think it cleaned up very nicely. The cord was replaced, but I have an original cord coming to me from a very generous friend. I'm so excited to finally have this in my collection (where it should be!)

I also found this cool tidbit which is from the Hoover "Newsy News" - employee newsletter. No clue where I got it, but it was saved in the 634 folder of my computer. Only the one page, cool no less! Phyllis from billing says it's a beauty and a bargain! Ugh, love those curtains!

Hoover 634

I have a 634 too;it was my favorite Aunts vacuum.I remember it being used in her home and I got to vacuum with it too.I have have all the manuals' sales tag's.It does have all the attachments, but,we have not found them,as she has a large farm house and they are somewhere in the heavy packed bed rooms up stairs.Yes,she never got rid of things. One could furnish a home with what she has kept.
But,the 634 has a special place for me.

Fred, yours is gorgeous! I hope to someday find the manual and dusting tools for mine as well. Phyllis from billing does have great curtains, but what I wouldn't give for the Anniversary Model foil sticker on her 634!

Brandon!!

Great machine there. I'm very glad you got one. One must add that model to one's collection. I finally got one as well, completing the "Fabulous Fifties" segment. They are great machines. It's true; HOOVER made them for a short time, and were also used to lure you into to but a more expensive model. Phyllis, from billing, sure knew what she was talking about, didn't she?
KUDOS to you.
John
