I have the same bag on my Citation! It was a topic on a thread a while back. Couldn't figure out if it came on it, or was a later replacement for the original. It's the more narrow style, and I think a different texture from the wider style bag on the Citation. It actually looks smart on that 29 IMHO. IIRC, I think it was determined that it was a replacment bag, just thought it odd they would go to the trouble of lettering it with the model name.

I bought a 29 on ebay a few years ago with the same bag. Hoover must have had a warehouse full of them after the 64 went out of prodution.

About the bag
I was told by a Hoover genius that it was a replacement bag. Chad Cunnigham has found two Hoover 29 uprights with the same bag.
I've never seen a model 64 Citation with a narrow top bag.

I just about did a double take
When I saw that Citation bag on that 29! I have a 29 with a reddish/dusty rose replacement bag but I have not seen one quite like that before! The night I spotted that machine on ebay I came here looking for a thread regarding it (this one) but didn't see it so I assumed that was more common than I thought. I decided last minute to pop a bid in on it and I am glad I did for I will soon be adding this beautiful 29 from Mr. Loveland to my collection! Thanks Kenny!

I was going to offer it to another collector. But I wasn't sure if he would want the bag or not since it's not original to the 64. Anyway I needed the money to pay for another round of vacuums that I'm getting in this weekend. Thanks to generosity of two other collectors. It’s a never ending cycle for me. Hopefully I won’t pull my hair out this weekend. I try to keep my vacuum collection and the amount of money I spend on each vacuum in check. Hope you enjoy the 29 Steve!

My mom's girlfriend.....
Bought a brand new hoover 29 when they came out. She had it serviced from where she bought it and finally had to have a new bag. This would have been in the 80's....They still made DVC bags to fit and she actually got a bag that almost but not quite matched her original. She still got the shake out and I asked her if they tried to change it to paper and she said no, but to her it was no big deal to empty and she didn't have bags to buy.....
