VacuumLand – Vintage & Modern Vacuum Enthusiasts

Help Support VacuumLand:

Hey

Just seeing pic I posted. I think somebody had some pieces original and built art deco box. I'm not sure 1963 told you 50% cotton etc. The box looks like fiberboard. I know they didn't have fiberboard until maybe the 90s.
It's a nice rare salesman piece but this person built in fashion of other boxes. I could be wrong but jmo.

and at 500 $ is it the real thing does he have proof that this is a true revelation?
It does looks alot like a c4 whit a re badge on it the revelation c2 hada diffrent sticker and no side fins exahsut on bottom.Whit out seeing the name plate underneat and model number i cannot be sure .

Hey

I'm saying he made the box and had sale items and made display box and modded vacuum to fit. It's real nice but there no way it's original. If a salesman used it it would be a little worn.

You are both wrong! Everything about that is correct! Compacts and Revelations often were sold with storage chests or in those days called "hassocks." It was a fancy way to store vacuum in plain site in your home and even have an extra piece of furniture. Rainbows were sold with storage chests, and many other machines as well! I have 3 vintage compacts in chests. Chests were even available for Electrolux as an after market item. I've seen many makes of canister/tank vacuum in chests such as this.

Wrong?

Look at the picture it's fiberboard. This is what make it yourself furniture with veneer glued on is sold at Walmart. They didn't have this wood until the late 90s it's engineered fiberboard. I do have a degree in construction. In framing they teach you how I joists are made in similar process just alot more layers. This is fiberboard they didn't have this for almost 40 years.

I hope the displays you have are real. I mean this is a nice display piece but if I was going to fake until I make it it would look period correct. You could glue boards together and plane flat. Go to antique store and not Wal Mart. I'd take cotton off box too or the potential hazard sticker too. The type set looks almost like they used a computer. I'm just messing with you. This is a fake and not a good one at that.

Lee may I call you Lee

I don't know how to say this but the northwest manufacturing co that you managed to look up is for outdoor wood furnaces, and the wood used is actually particle board which btw was introduced and first produced in Germany in 1887. Many many vacuum cleaner hassocks were actually made from particle board. That SALES hassock is original to that machine. No offense but If you have a degree in construction you may want to take a refresher course because there are alot of differences between MDF, Particle board, Formica, Fiber Board, etc... Although they are all very similar in a way they are different not to mention that Fiber board was introduced in the 80s.

People try to help you with the information that you seek and you try to either outsmart them or contradict them which is not smart when asking for advice. This would be a good reason to why not many people reply to threads that you create. Again im not trying to be rude but I am being blunt and honest and i am sure that I am speaking for many people. Alot of us here are longtime members with a lot of Knowledge, and we are all here to help one another and give advice. Don't ruin that opportunity, take what you can learn, run with it and discard the rest.

Hey

Look at the tag. The company was established in 2008. That's 48 years after the sales receipt. The fiberboard is made by the company earliest 2008. I mean it's not a belief it's a fact. I'm sure they're real ones out there but immaculate no. I can believe reality if your buying display boxes I could built exact replica for $15. You polish vacuum pieces I'll spray paint vacuum and reattach insigna. I can even replicate the sales receipt.
Luxflairguy I showed 3 pieces of proof do you still think it's period correct. I could make a better piece time correct. A company founded in 2008 isn't making fiber storage box 48 years prior. Meh it's fine.
I should report seller being fraudulent. It gives real display pieces a bad name.

Hey

Show me a particle board trunk.
The website shows est 2008. They didn't use particle board for chests. It's great it was founded a long time ago. You take log chips glue them together. The use of particle board wasn't prevelent until the late 90s. Thus birth of engineered wood for building. Anything wood pre 2000 is solid wood. I don't need a refresher course. I can also read. When did trunks get government issued warnings on items.
You can state these wonderful facts but they used real wood not glued scraps definitely not in early60s either.
Show me a particle board trunk with government warni g and a 50 percent cotton 50 percent fabric and make sure the company on the tag was established before 2000. Can you do this. If you can you can make a better fake than they did. Educate me some more.
Les you can call me les. Thanks

NORTHWEST MANUFACTURING EST. 2008 IS A WOOD FURNACE COMPANY!!!!! LOOK AT THE WEBSITE AND TELL ME THAT THEY MADE THE WOOD WHEN THEY MAKE FURNACES!

AGAIN! IT IS FACTORY ORIGINAL TO THE MACHINE!

YOU OBVIOUSLY HAVE NO COMMON SENSE!

learn something from a business owner (me)

company goes out of business, another company uses the name for something different.

The name northwest manufacturing could be used also as one company (wood and lumber) while another northwest manufacturing could be using it as a different company (furnaces), it is very common to have multiple businesses have the same name. stop being so dense and listen to what people are telling you. Again! the company you looked up is a FURNACE COMPANY, they DO NOT make WOOD PRODUCTS.

Do we need to spell it out any more clearer than that?

Blind

On page I posted shows est 2008. There's links to dealers but it shows no history of making anything in the past. It's just a page showing there accreditation and approval.
It's Northwest manufacturing company of saint Paul Minnesota and this is page that comes up. I seen a page closed permanently but that company was not out of saint Paul Minnesota as tag reads on the chest.
Oi Vue. Let's agree to disagree.
We got our refresher course on lumber displays and what people sale.
I call it a spade but who cares I'm not buying it. Have a good night.

“It had an enormous influence on furniture design. In the early 1950s”... if you’re trying to get somewhere with that you aren’t getting anywhere. If your trying to be a smart ass I can promise it won’t get you anywhere with me, ask other members or even past members and they will happily tell. Check your facts since you seem to “think you’re smarter than a fifth grader” (tv show reference)
Here’s some good reading for you! Maybe you’ll learn something or maybe you won’t.
Have a great night pumpkin! Some of us have to work in the morning and we love our beauty sleep!
