i bought a heritage II & the post office lost my package.i found another one close to where i live so i bought it. i had a heritage I shakeout bag & emptor i wanted to put on it. would not fit so i had to figure out why.the back axle was too wide.i came up with a way to make it fit.i removed one of the plastic spacers from the axle & took the wheel cover off & scooted the wheel in & it fits great. looks a little weird but you can't see it until you turn it upside down.i'd like to get a small back axle but it seems very hard to find one unless i would have to buy a whole heritage I to do so.

Nice

That looks like it works.
I'm watching roadkill garage right now. The theme to the show is it doesn't have to be a show car to drive it.
This vacuum functions and you don't have to win any beauty contests.

Quite an interesting conglomeration of parts...

It looks like the handle has had a few modifications, as evidenced by that much earlier bag topper. I've cobbled together a few frankenkirbys over the years. It's kind of fun coming up with combinations the factory never thought of, and the modular nature of the machines makes it pretty easy. The Heritage/Legend series is easily my favorite of the Kirby line, but I tend to go in the opposite direction with mine. I really detest dump bags, and instead tend to retrofit older machines to use disposable filter bags. The first time I did this was with a sort of beat down Heritage 1HD that I bought on eBay a few years ago. When I unboxed it, I never even put the dump bag on it. Instead, it got complete Heritage II bag assembly that I had for spares, but I never liked the gray bag with the gray plastics; it was just too dreary looking. Thankfully, a generous Vacuumlander hooked me up with a brand new orange bag that was just what it needed. I really love those orange bags, and if my avatar photo is any indicator, so does my cat.

A few years later, a Classic III came my way and got the same treatment, but with a Legend II bag assembly, reusing the Classic III bag topper. Although not as bold as the original red plaid dump bag, the light red Legend II bag looks right at home on that machine.

i love to change the original factory look to fit my own taste.i know the purest don't like it much but the kirbys are mine to add my own flare.i just today bought another heritage I with a shakeout bag.now i can put the original bag back on the heritage II.now i have both models to play with.

Dwayne,

The correct rear axle part no. would be 102080 (4.5" long) and was used on all Traditions, Heritages, Heritage IIs/Legends and Legend IIs with the large Em-Tor.

Did you contact your local post office about your missing package? I am sure it may have gone missing before getting there.

i did have the p.o. track my package to a local mail distribution facility but that was as close as they could tell me anything.it was lost in the building they said.(i said horse crap)i had to get my money back from ebay.the seller did not insure it so he's out a kirby.

yes i had no choice.i fought about it for a long while but i could not give a positive when i received nothing & then had to go through the get the payment back stuff.i explained to him why i did.i told him it would not hurt his stores sales.

Hey

I have 3 parts heritages. If you need a specific part I probably got it.
I do hope your not the member who wanted me to sell everything on ebay.

This is my call out.
If you want items for a kirby why do you insist on having people (me) sell on ebay. I offered PayPal venmo cash app etc. You didn't want those apps so u turned down the ds80 I have. I'm guessing your underage is all I can think of. PayPal, venmo and cash app all have guarantees for buyer and seller.
I've sold 12 items on ebay. They were all between $200-950 sales. I cleared $200 on $950 and every other one I didn't make any money.
I've sold atleast 12 vacuums and or parts to members. I don't make much money but I don't ask for alot of money. I bought a 880 for $250 Mike Balda restored the prettiest 880 you've ever seen. It had the hose and attachments. I sold it iirc for $125. I lost money but I have my own 880 and I know the buyer would get alot more joy out of the 880 than I ever would. I bought a 880 hose adaptor for $95 plus shipping. I sold ut to Jeff for $40 because it completed one of his dream vacuum sets. Jeff then showed me a 990 electro hygiene vacuum with the same adaptor and everything. I bought it and have a full setup.
I'm just curious to what is up.
So what's the deal?

as i explained i do not have cash app or venmo.therefore ebay is my choice for purchase.so your stupid guess to my age is WAY OFF ! i'm 68.been around a while seen a lot.you trying to CALL ME OUT is subpar at best & you made me laugh.that's it.

I

Guess I'm way off.
You realize until 3 years ago ebay PayPal and venmo were all owned by the same company.
It's not really a stupid guess. I'm not going to have to guess your not very tech savvy and paranoid buying online to a fault.
You answered my question so thank you for that.
I guessed underage because I've dealt with minors
L. There not old enough to get credit cards and can't use ebay because they are not old enough to go into a contract to buy things.
I'm glad I made your day. I just don't like ebay because it pretty much only makes Ebay money.
