Instructions.....

The actual factory block (far right) was sadly demolished to make way for a supermarket :(. The rest of the building is still there and grade 1 listed. Although no longer anything to do with Hoover its still called the Hoover Building :)

Dustettes

Tom, yours are very cute, and I must say the colours on the Canadian model are especially nice. Are both built at Perivale?

Patrick - if yours has a polished nozzle and a black body, it is probably an earlier one, built to match the 700/725 etc. Early ones have a rocker switch, and later versions have the sliding switch.

Seamus - your 100 is very odd - the only blue and grey fixed nozzle models I've seen have been 2504's, with the later squarer handle. I though that and the 2614 replaced the brown & gold 100, but obviously not!

As it happens I believe theres another just like mine on Ebay Atm ;).

Congrats on the 3314L btw - hope it works as nice as it looks :)

Pat...

Your Hoover Dustette must be prewar. They painted them after the war to match the uprights. The Dustette came out in 1930 (model 100) and had polished aluminum nozzle and black painted body. If it has this type of nozzle, then it should have black bag. Later of course they changed the color of the bag to match the rest of the machine. I think that the post war Dustettes were built in Perivale and imported. I believe that we made the cord and plug though. The Canadian version is just a little different and it was made in Hamilton Ontario.
