Here are some VACUUMS!

Because we had two of these machines I feel quite right in telling you that the bag for that machine was white, with red Hoover lettering going horizontally across (facing the bag)the right hand side towards top that says

Hoover
Convertible

There was no light blue bag for that model that your reffering to. The light blue bag is for an earlier metal based convertible with the light blue waterfall hood.

I'm almost 100% positive that the plastic base Convertible Tom has had a white hounds tooth bag with like lettering as I showed in my very preliminary picture...

I will double check, but I think that this model Convertible is one that came in both metal and plastic bases. I am sure that the Historical Center has some information on it in the files. I will check when I get a chance. I would not be surprised if they used both styles of bags on this machine at some point! Hoover was always looking for cost reductions.

I LOVE that commercial hoover!

now that is a vacuum that could stand up to the abusive janitors at the concert venue where my dad and I work! (the sanitaires we currently use have gone through ten motors in 4 years granted we have 5 units but you get the picture)

Here is yet another find at out local "Restore". Thanks to Jimmy for reminding me that they had moved into a much larger place. This one cost me all of $2 and it went to a very good cause, Habitat for Humanity. This one came complete but I did not show the tools, wand, hose etc in the photo. And it runs!

Hoover Lark 12

After seeing the pictures of your recent finds, I'll have to get my Model 12 Lark out of the mini-storage unit, where it's resting, and run it. As I mentioned in a telephone conversation, the first new vacuum cleaner I bought after graduating from high school in Fort Worth was a Model 12. Bought it at a well known department store at the time, Stripling's, in downtown Fort Worth.
