Hi, what are the differences between the different C and Q bags?

My Panasonic MC-CG885 was takes a C-18 bag per the owner's manual. When I search for compatible bags, C-5 and C/Q bags also pop up. Are these all the same size but with different grades of filtration? Is there also a true HEPA bag in this category?

While I'm on the subject of the MC-CG885 and HEPA, I also need to know if there is still a rear HEPA being made that fits this machine. I am on my last Panasonic OEM rear HEPA filter which was part # AMV95K5J0H0P measuring 6-3/8" x 4-3/16" x 3/4". Does this correspond with one of the Kenmore filters like the EF-9 or EF-11?

Hi there Daniel. The C-18 bags are the same thing as the c-19/Q bags, just a little bigger but they should fit. They are HEPA cloth graded which is what I would highly recommend using for your Panasonic. The C-5 bags are made out of paper which are not as good as the cloth bags.

Regarding the filters, yes they should be identical to either the Kenmore EF-9 or the EF-11 filter. I can't fully confirm but alot of the Kenmores uses filters that are similar to the Panasonics.

Hope this has helped.

I'm aware of one company that still makes C-18 bags which is Envirocare. They seem good so I will keep using them as long as they are available. I just wondered what the difference was between C-18 and the rest, and I think that answers my question, thanks.

As for the exhaust filters, I assume Kenmore EF-9 and EF-11 are different sizes. I was hoping to find out which one (if either) corresponds to the OEM dimensions I posted above so that I can order the correct one.

You can buy both filters and see which one fits your machine so you could send the other one back. Unfortunately I don't have an answer to that but when I worked at a vacuum store, both filters looked pretty similar.
