HELP PLEASE !

i am restoring my older kirby ive ran into a snag tho the three screws that hold the fan case/ chamber together are STUCK ive even tried using a drill to get them out. Any suggestions on how to get em out

Maybe we should use a anti seize compound when installing screws into aluminum housings esp when we do a nice rebuild.

just a thought.

impact driver

Hi i use a impact screw driver to revove stuck screws all the time.

Might be hard!!

It might be hard to do if you have already drilled the heads off to the screws.
Drilling them should normally be a last resort always use the impact driver first with some kind od releasing agent like WD40 etc.

Yeah, stripping screw heads by digging at them in futility with a screwdriver is not the way to go. Instead, insert the screwdriver tip into the screw head then beat the crap out of the screwdriver with a hammer while putting =slight= counter-clockwise pressure on the screw. Works most of the time (unless you've already ruined the screw head) and is a great way to work off a little pent-up aggression!

n.b., dribbling a couple drops of Liquid Wrench or similar down over the screw before the Beating Treatment and letting it sit until it drains down inside will help.

I have a extra fan housing for the 561-562

If all else fails and you ruined your fan housing i have a extra one.

I use this stuff called pb blaster it completely takes away rust and loosens rusted on things like screws.
