So My 20 year old defy Auto maid dryer caught fire and burnt up the other day.( such fun )
Any how I have a Kenmore 90 and 70 series dryer from the USA using the two 110 v circuits. I decided to rework them so they can run on our 220 voltage which meant separating the heating element ( 220v) from the rest of the system ( 110v)
The 110 v runs off a large transformer and the 220v heating element runs through a relay ( that controls it with the 110v timer switch) to my normal mains.
Every thing works fantastically for a few seconds then the motor switch switches off and the motor stops turning.'
This happens on both the units with the heat switched on or off
I am not to familiar with 110v brush less motors, in SA Our brush less motors all use a capacitor were as it seems 110v dont.
Have any of you got any idea what the problem could be.
