I just had the cord on my Hoover Model 700 replaced with a new black 25ft one, and its looking better than ever! However one thing that still bothers me is the unoriginal, faded and hole ridden cloth bag that's currently on it. I'm wondering if anyone has and original bag or any bag in general that's in better condition than this one.

Thanks in advance.

700 Bag

The generics crops up on Ebay from time to time. I bought a few of mine from the Henry Company. I checked their website but they only have after market bags for convertible style Hoovers and the commercial models. My advice to you would be to follow some searches on Ebay or wait and see if a member might have one.

700 Bag Response

I follow the Henry Company on eBay. Like you said they only have the convertible type bags at the moment. I have been looking on and off since I bought my vacuum to no luck.
I almost won these yesterday but someone out bid me at the very last second... Granted they show which models they fit, the dark brown bag on the far right is exactly the same as the one I have on my machine.
Oh well, maybe the person that bought them will put some of them up for sale. Just have to wait and see I suppose

I hear ya on that. I don't believe they'll have anything for the coffee can Hoovers. And the only things I have close enough to the original patterns would be these photo shots... And the fact they're made of Black Ronac material. No chemicals or anything of the sort. I have no idea what the original dimensions are either.

Would the RONAC name be derived from NORth CANton?

Certainly somebody could cut up a tattered bag to make a pattern before they all turn to dust.

From the patent office:

"Knitted, Netted, and Textile Fabrics. Ser. No. 257,067. The Hoover Company, North Canton, Ohio. Filed Nov. 4, 1927. RONAC For Textile Filter Fabrics. Claims use since May 1, 1927."

That is approaching 90 years ago!

The Henry Company does in fact sell bags for Hoovers using the old style bag ring. I bought 2 dozen of them a few months ago (what can I say, I have a fear of running out of things) and they are fantastic. I currently have one on my 450 (the one on the left).
