Ok so i have a Eureka ESP Self Propelled and when i first bought it, the lightbulb that already came installed in it didn't work. So since i love headlights on a vacuum so much, i went to my local vacuum store and bought a new one. Now when i bought it the lightbulb was smaller than the original lightbulb it came with but i didn't think that would matter. So i went home, put it on, worked fine. But the one thing that bothered me was that the logo didn't light up like how it was supposed to which really dissapointed me. So about a week later, i was vacuuming my room and the headlight started flickering and it blew out. So i was really angry that the bulb only lasted a week so i went back to the vacuum store and so i could get a refund but they said there was no warranty on those bulbs so i was like whatever so i bought another one. Again, i went back home and put it on and it also worked fine but that one didn't light up the logo either. So today i was vacuuming again and the headlight started flickering AGAIN and then it blew out AGAIN!!! This one only lasted 4 flipping days!!! Now i'm really frustrated and i'm starting to wonder if its the vacuum that has like a shortage or something thats wrong with the light bulb connector or if the light bulbs are really cheap where i buy them from. What do you guys think??

Also what do you guys think about the logo not lighting up on the hood?? Do you guys think its the size of the bulb thats affecting it or its not bright enough or what??

ive had healight poblems likre that beofore...

and when I did ( it was with my Royal 880),I thought the same thing u did about the blub, then I thought it was the socket.....But 9 out of 10 times its the blub...The vac shop should have taken that back and made it right, there's always a warranty on stuff like that especially on a light blub....especially after ONLY a week. you need to go back and tell them that that only lasted a week and they need to replace it! They the shop its self may not warranty that, but I bet you the the parts company, or the manufacturer of the light blub does....As far as the shop is concerned they've sold you the blub, they've made there money there done with you. that's NOT right! the shop just doesn't want to mess with it. well they kinda need to, its called customer service!

Yeah i completely agree with you 1926700!!! Its complete bull that the first bulb only lasted a week and they wouldn't give me a refund and now i buy a new one and it only lasts 4 days!!!! Wtf??!!! And if they won't give me a refund then fine so be it i'll just go to another shop.

Plus this light bulb is different cause its something called a bayonet light bulb and its not very common. Hopefully other vacuum stores will have good quality ones of them.

no it is.....NOT

UN COMMON...there are a MILLION sewing machines that use that blub....and a MILLION other vacuums....like Kirby, Royal, Hoover, Kenmore , Electrolux, ETC.....EVERY vac shop should carry those!!! all that bayonet means is you push ans twist in, instead of screw in...

"Plus this light bulb is different cause its something called a bayonet light bulb and its not very common." Sorry, but you are very wrong, it is the most common bulb type.

It is rare to find a screw cap appliance, at least here in the UK.

The only use I have for a screw cap bulb is my desk lamp.

Screw caps

Jamie

Sorry but YOU are very wrong, the Edison screw-in light fitting is by far the most common, we in the UK are one of the few countries in the world to use them for everday light fittings.

And even here they are becoming less common too - go into IKEA and every light fitting is screw in (and yes I DO know they sell bayonet fitting low energy lamps), likewise my outside light (bought in Homebase), the lamp in my ceiling fan (B&Q), and the lamps in an ornimental light fitting (bought in John Lewis).

Well that is news to me Alistair!

Every light fitting in my house is Bayonet Cap apart from the desk lamp and the fancy light fitting in the living room.

Even the touch lamp and sparkly (not my choice) Next lamp use Bayonet Cap.

"I have to concur here with Alistair. JM I think you may be confusing round bayonet with some other bulb, a pygmy bulb that is commonly used in cooker hoods, ovens, vacuum cleaners et al:" What are you talking about ? I know what a Bayonet Cap is! I might not be the brightest bulb (pun intended) in the box but I know that.

Sorry for posting three consecutive replies, but what brand of bulbs were they ?

The only two bulb brands I trust are Philips and General Electric.

I absolutely hate (N)EverReady.

Yet again Jamie your previous post shows poorly chosen wording and I don't know why you have to put a link to show what a bayonet cap is, given that my previous post before yours shows the same glass bulb top with screw fitting base and the bayonet cap/base!

You refer to a "bulb" and then "bayonet cap." Therefore I responded by concurring. Read the posts before you jump to your conclusions. I know you know what a bayonet cap is, but by describing / using the word "bulb type," doesn't detract the two versions, easily. "Bulb type" usually refers to the shape of the bulb AND the fitting which is why I posted a pic of the most commonly used bulb in appliances. Besides, in the U.S they may well use a different bulb, a fact that you don't seem to let that member get away from.

Home depot lied

Oh sorry if i was mistaking because first i went to Home Depot and i showed them the light bulb and they told me that the bulb i had was rare and that its hard to find or whatever so i just went to a vacuum store instead.

Still haven't found the answer

I still need to know why this is happening to the bulbs and why the logo down't light up though... :(
