I do not drink coffee, and I would never pay full price for a Keurig, but I found one sitting outside the dumpster at work and brought it home. I tried it out and it worked perfectly.... it is a model B60. The thing costs between 135 and 150 new and is still a current model, though it has been out for a while now.
I don't know why someone would throw away a perfectly working machine like this, especially one that is so exspensive! I'm enjoying playing with it. I bought a box of hot chocolate K cups and a box of lemon iced tea K cups... they both suck. The lemony part of the tea is really too bitter and the hot chocolate isn't nearly rich enough (I usually make mine with milk instead of water and add way too much powder)....
I bought one of those cheap refillable K cup things so I can fill it with whatever I want and bought some Millstone brand caramel truffle flavored coffee... well apparently I like coffee now because that stuff is amazing! I bought it just for "guests", but I will likely finish it up before I even have any guests... it will be nice to be able to offer people coffee now isntead of sending them to 7-11! The thing is bigger than my Kitchen Aid stand mixer and I can't believe how much counter real estate it takes up! I just coudn't pass it up for free, but I'd never have paid money for one....
Anyway, have you used one and what do you think of them?
