Dan, I have played this over and over! You are a talented man, wish I could do something that beautiful. Post more, I'm sure everyone would enjoy!

Hi Rex -
I never really have anything to ask for at christmas other then clothes - This year though I did ask for a Digital Camcorder - I actually picked the one I wanted, and my partner gave it to me as on of my gifts…

It is a Canon Vixia HFR500 - I use a splitter from the Headphone jack, and record listening through headphones, and then i use a patch cable to connect from the organ directly into the "MIC" in port on the camcorder… I do want to get a set of adapters and try recording from the two outputs on the back of the organ… I want to see how that effects the recording level on the camcorder..

Gary -
Yes - I did start with the song setup, but then I tweaked it to my liking - I changed the variation, added a string tab, lost two flute tabs, and changed the bass tabs… I also turned off the AOC - Used a Duet Harmony -

I manually played the bass pedals on the songs I posted thus far on You tube, but on Tie a yellow ribbon, I played them manually for the first half of the song, but switched on the auto pedals for the boogie style bass in the second half of the song… The day I recorded this, it was damp, cold, and rainy in NJ -

The damp weather aggravates my bad left hip (yes at 48 yrs old, I need a hip replacement) and makes playing the fast boogie portion of pedaling hard to do without any mistakes… That Combined with the fact that I did about six recordings before I got one I was happy with, made matters worse… By the time I was done playing, my hip was killing me…

I am glad that people are enjoying them…

Dan

Your camcorder does work well even if you are feeding the organ headphone signal into the mic input on the camera.Surprized the headphone level out didn't overload the camera. It works well. The line outs on the back should work as well, too. They are meant for a higher inpeadence input-like on an external amp.Despite your bad hip-you play well anyway-just don't play so much it pains you-after all playing the organ should be fun,not painful.

You will find that the audio levels coming out of the aux outputs on the back of the organ are not very loud. This has always been and still is, a problem with all Lowrey organs and has been a huge complaint by everyone that does any recording. Some people use a pre-amp or mixer before connecting to the recording device.

Gary

Figure Lowrey doesn't know what kinds of devices the organ would be connected to-so they kept the aux out low so as to not damage external devices.better to have to turn the gain up,than not being able to control it if its too high.At least if you connect the outputs thru a line amp or mixer-then you can control the organs level how ever you want it.Like you there are probably other users that connect these aux outs to some sort of mixer that has other instruments connected to it than to a recorder.

Hi Guys -
That was what I was afraid of…

I will stick with feeding the sound from the splitter off of the headphone jack..

I will put up two more songs tonight - I did them last night for a dear friend who's last day working with us is today - Had to wing it when I played them because I did not have time to work them into a more fancy multi-fingered piece -

This time I let the organ do some of the work - PLus it was simply too emotionally draining even playing them…

Dan

Wow

That was great Dan. That organ has so many buttons, and lights, it looks like an 747 cockpit.
Is their a button to fire the nukes. J.k.
Awesome job, keep the music coming

Hi Rex -
Thanks to Gary's post telling me that the jacks in the back are a low output, I will not even bother with the adapters - I will just keep going the way I am with inputting the sound signal to the camcorder from the headphone output -

Alphonse - Thank you for the compliment - It does have a large number of features - and many different presets - Plus the sound of each preset can be modified… It can all get a little overwhelming at time -

But I do enjoy it - Now that I know I like the Lowrey's, I have been thinking about an upgrade - I will have to see what things look like at the end of the year… My dealer is on notice to keep me in mind if something very recent comes in…

I will try to put up a few more over the next week or so…

Dan

If you like the Lowrey you have--stay with it!What better would a new one offer? But a HIGHER PRICE!!Would the new ones have better features?Better sound system?Sounds like the headphone output works well in feeding to your camera.Does your present organ have the Thumb drive "player" or the CD player-recorder?

Being older technology from the SU series, the Rhapsody has neither a CD player/recorder or a USB port....it uses 3.5" diskettes. When a song is recorded, it is the keystrokes, buttons pressed, etc. that are recorded, not a music file in .mp3 or .wav format so you cannot use the diskette on anything other than the organ. The newer models have both the USB drive and a CD recorder. The USB drive works the same way as the 3.5" diskette but the CD recorder actually records the songs in .wav format.
