Ghetto Vacuum Contraptions?

Found it!

Years ago I was trying to find a good solution to clean theater seats and decided to try a little lux II, unfortunately it ended up clogging up pretty quickly, so i decided to pair it with the backpack vacuum.

Due to the inlet coming off at an angle attaching the hose to that directly would have made it difficult to use so i took an old chemical bottle, trimmed it down and used a bunch of tape.

It was extremely inconvenient to use but I don't think those chairs have ever been cleaner.

I did something similar with my other Kirby Ultimate G I used to have connected to a Ridgid wet/dry vac in a wood shop just for fun. It was WAY too powerful. So much suction was sealed onto the floor that makes it harder to move and the belt always stops.

Wow!

I have made a few odd contraptions from vacuum cleaners, but these are amazing! The only one I remember is trying to attach a leaf blower battery to a oreck, I didn’t because I was worried about shorting it out (I’m terrible with electricity). Is this possible?
Merry Christmas

About the best/worst I've ever done was to attach an Electrolux PN4A to a Eureka 'Ironsides' canister, using the Eureka hose and a teal Electrolux wand with a pigtail connector up top. The only needed modification was to push the latch button on the Eureka hose out of the way. I guess you could call the resulting conglomeration a 'Eurekolux'. The end result looks a little weird but works quite well.

Another abomination!

Here's a bagless Kirby setup I cobbled together. I still have it but haven't made use of it since shooting the video. I even got a spare G6 2000 handle to use with it.

More info about the Dirt Devil Shop Vac Contraption thingie.

When I used it to clean the stairs, the suction was so strong, that it was hard for me to move the Handvac across my stairs carpet. I may end up trying this with a car carpet to see how it can be effective over there. I may end up doing a quick video of it to show everyone how it works and it in action.

Wasn't the very first tandem air machine a lash up of a Eureka upright with an Airway Sanitizor? Tom Gasko has one of these. I have one of those Kenmore Ultravac tandem air canisters and honestly I think the Miracle Mate with the Oreck lash up is probably sturdier and easier to use.

Awhile ago there was an Electrolux Versatility on ShopGoodwill that had the missing filter cover replaced with a cut up license plate.

Oh. Thanks for giving me the correct term, then.
There is no "correct" term. There is hundreds of words for the same meaning - both regional, local, and pertaining to your individual life experiences. Society is dumbing-down from all the phone exposure so their brains can't handle the fact that there is so many words that mean the same thing, so they demand and lambast that people use the word THEY use and force you to be like them, so that they do not have to adapt.

I once took out the filter and motor from an old beam unit and put a kirby hose (machine end) into the place of the motor. I used an amway lower hose to go into a tellus/nilfisk gs82 dual motor industrial vacuum. I must admit it worked fairly well at seperating dirt.

Here's my hat into the ring.

Recently, I've been curious to try out one of those electrostatic self-cleaning dusters from Eureka, so I bought one off of Ebay. The only thing is that I don't have a Whirlwind Litespeed, Boss Widetrack, or any other machine that uses one of them. So instead, I used my Nacecare Henry 160 with it. I took a spare Eureka wand that I had and attached it to the accessory, then put it in one of the rear tool slots. I also used a Shop Vac adapter that came with a car cleaning tool to allow the hose cuff to better fit into it. And guess what? It works!

As for the duster itself, it's a duster, not much to say on it. Unfortunately, the electrostatic part of it doesn't work that well. Idk if that's because of age or me not using it right (it was listed as being brand new, for the record). Apparently you're supposed to turn your Whirlwind on (assuming I had one) and let it spin inside the cup for 10-15 seconds, and that's what creates the electrostatic charge. However, it also wouldn't spin very freely, which I find stange considering that I'm certain that my Henry would have double the airflow and suction of any Eureka that this was meant to go to. Regardless, I had to spin it by hand while it got suctioned off. Luckily, on that note, the self-cleaning part works great, just as long as whatever dust on it isn't too sticky or gross.

Overall, I think it's nice little accessory, but it's not the greatest. It's good for scenarios where it'd be impractical to use a normal dusting brush attachment (i.e. for cleaning delicate or small things), but otherwise it's a duster, and has almost all of the drawbacks of one.20251129_193955.jpg20251129_194007.jpg
