Matt... the Eureka version did have that notch that you were talking about. If the GE came with the bare floor tool, I imagine it would have had the notch too.
I liked the Eureka version a little better because it had a quick release power nozzle (of course at Sears, it had to compete with the Kenmore canisters which all but the bottom of the line had the quick release). Though the GE power nozzle is much more attractive. They also had a bagged and bagless upright that were GE branded at the same time.... again just for Wal-mart.
I almost got one of those (the green GE canister) on Craig's List about a year ago. Some guy had it listed for 20 bucks. He said it was his neighbors and he just wanted to get rid of it. He kept re-listing it. I wrote him and told him that was a great price and I was surprised it hadn't sold. He told me I could have it for free. I told him that would be great, then I could add it to my collection. Then I tried to make arrangements to pick it up and he told me he'd rather give it to someone who NEEDED a vacuum, not a collector! A few days later, it was back on CL for 100 bucks! What a flake! He's probably still got it, nobody would pay that price for a used one... and if he did sell it, it's probably clogged with legos and stuffed animal stuffing in a dumpster somewhere by now!
