I was flipping thru the TV channels this morning and came across an infomercial for the Garry vac. Anyone heard of them before. They look very similiar to the Oreck but comes with an attached hose and onboard attachments. The price was $200 which also included a steam mop, life time supply of replacements bags, free replacement if anything happens to the vac even if it is your fault. Sounds too good to be true.

I TiVoed that 2 days ago. I bet they are going to get sued. They show the vacuum's names (Oreck and Dyson) and it looks totally like a Riccar superlight! Also, they self-sealing bag is patented by Oreck, so it looks like they are in big trouble. It has some cool features and a good warranty, but I'd buy an American Riccar Superlight.

I send Garry's customer service an email several months ago, with what I thought were some important questions - 1.) Where is the Garry Vac manufactured? 2.) How long has "Garry" been in business? 3.) How many amps does the Garry draw? 4.) If (heaven forbid) Garry does go out of business, are there any other bags out there that will fit? Needless to say, I never got a response. Any thoughts I had about possibly purchasing one went right out the window as such....

Garry Vac

I ordered one. Not that much different from anything else out there today. Much like the plastic Hoover,Dysons or whatever. I sent mine back because it was loud like my first Oreck XL. The build quality was ok. The company was ok to deal with and refunded my money. No real complaints on the machine except the noise level.
I think I had a thread with pictures not too long ago.

I wonder of Miele knows the self sealing bags are patented by Oreck.... my FJM bags self seal!

Riccarlover thanks for posting a video of that. I like infomercials and I don't have cable so I have not seen the video about this vac yet!

Wow... I saw the video. It is a little over the top, and I can't believe they actually use the words Dyson and Oreck in their commercial. I'd prefer a Dyson or Oreck anyway... this thing just looks cheap!
