And, Charlie...................

A drive from Manhattan is 2 and a half hours. We even have bus service, if your adverse to driving. Hans, my late father was from Roxboro. WE still have family in Charlotte and Fayetteville. I think THAT is an 8 hour drive. Consider that.
The more people are talking, it seems very likely to happen. (Yikes) Of course, a lot can happen between now and then. But, you'd all be very welcome here in the Wyoming Valley.
More details to come. Chad... let's talk about a lot of stuff , soon.

Hans, I didn't get on a plane for the first time until after 9/11/01. I don't care to fly to the vacuum conventions because schlepping vacuums via shipping is costly and inconvenient. I also get anxiety in crowded airports, but despite being terrified of heights I do actually really love flying! Planes are FUN!

But anyway, I've heard rumors of Denver in the past, and even tried a gathering here a few times, once rather seriously, but its never materialized. It would be fun though, and all of us out here would enjoy it...

Denver

I definitely would recommend considering the Denver area. It's a cross point of major highway, flights are cheap and often if you want to fly. Also there's plenty of spaces for rent that are relatively inexpensive. Maybe that you even could be hosted at the right collectors residence.

free states

@bagintheback

definitely haven't more on the west coast would be a big plus someplace like Nevada,Arizona,Colorado or Texas.

It would be a big appeal to drive to a "free state" rather than having to surrender Safety and Security by going to New York.

My vote would be Colorado considering it's one of the freest states in the Union.
