I have a curious feeling of 'Deja Vu'..... ;-)

I have just saved from the skip a Dyson DC07 'Animal', which has lived in a friend's shed for several years. I've plugged it in and run the motor for a few seconds.... It runs, but the bearings sound dry. The (soleplate??) which covers the brushroll is missing, and the brushroll didn't spin, though I think it may be 'switch-off-able'. Essentially it's almost complete (apart from the soleplate and accessories), the plastic parts are variously Brown, Gold, and Purple. It's also filthy!! Anyone wanting it for spares, it's the usual 'first come, first served' routine. First one to offer to collect it here has first dibs.

Sorry, no photographs, some theiving little b*****d stole my camera a month or so back... :@ :@

All best

Dave T

P.S. Re: "Free* ".. If someone feels honour bound to donate a couple of quid for it, I won't refuse.... Otherwise it's free... ;-)

Brown and gold plastic= a discoloured DC07 animal, lol. It should be silver and lavender

Also, as for the brushbar not turning is that purple knob on the cleaner head switched on the middle "off" setting in the upright position? Or when you recline it, push it to the on position and it should work, otherwise it's the rare event of a snapped belt (The one from the motor to the clutch)

New home found

I delivered the DC07 to the premises of CitroenBX this morning. Hopefully he will append a few pictures in due course.

You were right, Parwaz786, apparently it IS supposed to be lavender and silver, the amount and even-ness of the discolouration being unusual!! We may get to see a 'before' picture for your amusement ;-)

All best
