Inside dirt container & METAL cone guard (still original unlike some that I've seen with PLASTIC cone guard)

Gonna clean the vac & tools later. I disagree that the vintage FQ filter cones are thicker than today's; the cones from then wre THINNER than the cones of today. Unfortunalty the vintage cone is used & I can't save it.

No PN outlet on this 31 but I'm not sure about retrofitting one b/c I also have a salmon color PN (mdl 48) but I'll leave it as original as possible. I also have the Jet deMOTHer & sprayer in salmon; now its nearly complete. All I need is a salmon color PN wand.

Filter Queen

I believe that machine is a 33 unstead of a 31 ,it probably got the wrong model plate installed, a model 31 is 1 speed, 33 is 2 speed , also the 31 was only made in 2 tone , the 33 was a solid color, finally the cord winder was only for model 33 not 31 , hope this info helps a little,im not a expert on F.Q. but have picked up some good identification tips.

UPDATE

Cleaned out the FQ & I was glad the motor filter was on but between the screen & base instead of between the cone guard & motor screen like it should be. So I saved myself time & $ from replacing the motor. Now its ready to ROAR!

Turbo brush test on FQ

The turbo brush spins at supersonic speeds when I used it with the FQ; it really puts other vacs to shame. Its a huge diference now that I put new filters on my 31 & K31X (daily driver) U can also notice increased suction when using only the Cellupure (white) cone, charcoal Enviropure (black inside & out) & disc filters & no MEDI-PURE (black on outside, white on inside) Not even my Vacuflo can spin the brush that fast!

YUK!

Just pulled out the bating filter & it looks like PUKE! I bet the previous owner used the vac w/o the Cellupure & disc filters or used generic ones for a time! The batting filter had pet hair coating the inside of the foam filter. If your FQ's batting filter looks dirty, CHANGE IT! Otherwise you'll get SICK & puke like heck!

btw how do I remove that nasty perfume odor from the FQ? I changed ALL filters; even the batting filter & washed the scent pad & the smell STILL comes out of vac exhaust.
