OMG!

Looks like some dope ran the vac w/o filters. There's lot of dirt on the intake screen where flat disc filter goes. I'll have 2 clean it out b4 using.

the hose coupling (where tools go) is 'liquified' & I'm not sure if I can get the rubber 2 solidify before it keeps 'melting' or 'flakes off' How can I keep the rubber from flaking & get it solid?

Since the metal wands and hose end all have metal running right to the end of the rubber grips the tools fit fine. The rubber collar simply has an inner molded protrusion that depresses the tool's button latch when pressed. But you know this.

If the rubber cuff or ferrule is liquefying or dessicated there's really nothing to be done but remove and toss it. I find orphaned non-electric FQ hoses all the time. I'm sure any FQ dealer will have spare cuffs and hoses lying around for free if ya ask nice enough. Also, the FQ hose literally screws into the cuff barrels at both ends, like Rainbow, Kirby. Westinghouse or Sunbeam so really all you need to find is a hose handle.

Rubber coupling where tools connect (handle) still 'liquified' maybe I should dip it in ice cold water & c if it hardens; if it works I keep the rubber but still can connect the tools.
