FloorMAX vs. Floor Mate

Which is better? I like the FloorMAX for its scrubbing power & I like the Floor Mate (early style) for its low profile head; but I'm not sure if a Floor Mate is worth the $ or not.

I love my FloorMate. I wouldn't be without it now - worth it's weight in gold!

Things aren't like they used to be

maybe I'll buy a Floor Mate so I don't have to put my Floor-A-Matic (FAM) thru so much stress. I wish Hoover still made the FloorMAX (esp. the one that vacuums dirty water) but with TTI "controlling" Hoover USA its unlikely they'll bring back the FAM.
