Which style do you need I have the black with the stretch belt, a black with the geared belt, and the red one, I have not plugged them in yet, but the housings on the black ones appear to be good, I haven't drug the red ones out yet to tell. they are known to warp where they hold the brush in. I also have not cleaned them up yet. How complete do you want it? email me the details if you like.

Powermate1970,,Yes!!! the first one, with the woodgrain,,thats the one!
Thanks for the pics,,brings back fond memories.
If you should ever want to sell one of the woodgrain Powermate vacs, please let me know!

Powermate1970, can't wait to see the new one. Someone here though I forget who, has one of those top of the line 2299 with the headlight and green wands. I like the blue but really like the avocado. Other than the one my parents had, I've only seen two older Kenmores when I was young. One was metal with a raised top for tool storage, which was at a yard sale. The other was avocado with woodgrain, which was in the trash, but missing the wands and Powermate. I asked my mom if we could stop and pick it up, but she didn't want to as a friend lived next door to where it was, and the house where it was looked dirty so it was probably broken.

We also had one similar to the last pic you posted, but instead of the removable tool storage, it had a compartment with lid on top in the front. It still worked okay when my parents threw it away. Now I never see any of these around.

No, sorry I meant a front hose unit in beige with black bumpers, very similar to the right most one in your photo of the four vacuums above. The difference was it had a tool compartment with a hinged lid instead of the removable caddy. The tool lids broke easily as they had just little tabs for hinges.

We did have a 1987 swivel hose machine too but ours was a lower end 3.9 model with only an on/off pedal, otherwise looked like the one you just found. It too was a good machine.

part of my collection before display changes

Decided to go ahead and post some pictures of some of my collection as well as parts of my supply room. Not the clearest picture what doesn't show up is the Kirby Heritage beach towels, the Kirby song book, 1957 Kirby demo book,Heritage demo book,The Royal chalkboard eraser cleaner. The Tri star proto type.

kirby parts

Hi,
Wow what a collection, would you have a 13 inch front head for an heritage, legend two vac? I have been looking for one for a really long time.
I would pay a fair price for it and shipping.
Thank You
Robert

Robert,
I don't think so But I have so much that I am sorting through I may come across some, if I do I would be happy to let you know.

Is there any use for the old 50's model powerplants that the nameplate that was riveted onto the fan case is missing? It is frustrating but I have come across quite a few like that.
