Hi guys, greetings from the ancestral home of the mighty Bison!
Longtime lurker from AW.org, and way before that on the original VacWeb forum, deciding to join the fun.

I'm curious about an Electrolux upright I found recently. It's an old model, billed as a "heavy duty" automatic upright. Model #1363. I can't seem to find any info about it. It's a neat machine, very different from the later uprights. Can someone tell me when it was made? Any additional information appreciated. Thanks!

Rick

The Vacuum on steroids

They debuted in 1979,boasting about solving upright's six major problems, and were a beast-and-a-half.I'd rather have a Bison.

Thanks for the correction. Now let me get this straight. I know what Hoover and Eureka uprights of the day looked like. Why would Lux offer that big ol monster of an upright?

This upright is downright awful

Beats me.One problem that it claims to have solved is the getting under low furniture issue.Yeah,right.That sucker had a 6 3/4 inch high motor hood, with a plastic bag shell that was even higher.Yuck.

Not quite. The tools don't attach under the brush, but there's a plastic plate to keep the spinning brush from damaging the carpet. To attach the hose, you flip open the bag compartment and latch on a converter piece that then takes the standard Lux old-style hose.
