Filter Queen needs help

Want to hook up a power cord to a vac without any

The switch is wired
but there is one set of wires out of switch not capped
I found 2 loose black electric caps in the top

so trying to figure where they go & how to hook up the cord to the unit

I have a 2 wire cord w white & black wires

trad black is negative so assume white is positive?

Now I;d like to test motor w my cord but have to attach it

thinking the red gray in pic which are together but not capped are the swtich connections

so the loose red & black must be power cord leads?

guess I could try but don't want to cross wires

...anyone know which way to proceed?

but the vac is on the gurny & like to get it going or not

well the grey receptacle is the power nozzle power so thats not a switch...but is on swtich or else it would be on with unit off so guessing the leads of power cord have to be before it then the switch placed in line to control it


thoughts still go to loose red n black wire
to hook up cord

not so concerned about power nozzle port now anyway

anybody?

lamda motor this is model 31

serial number has a d on collar n serial # starts X9...

its motor top view is similar when I peak thru top to my model 33 1978
the mod d31x 1986 looks different

I see 2 brush holders from above say x axis
then there are 2 red plastic extensions on the other y axis

hmmm?

this is the 86 filter queen very rusty! but i cleaned it up a bit after this pic

least it is not rusty like the 86 d 31 x
wish I took pic of external wiring
but only got under motor cover n don;'t want to take it apart to match wiring

the cordless motor

same config as ametek lamda motor though its rated at 8.9 amps

rubber gasket is broken

so far missing the handle on exhaust cap & the gasket & screen for secondary filter
& cord..LOL

learning & hope to get it working

could this be a `1975 unit?

red n gray of power nozzles goes to red out of motor & that connects w neutral white
black of wire goes to black on switch

well now to hook it up n test

houston we have lift off

it powered on & works

so I'm putting it together have to figure way to grommet cord

guess that bissell cord came in handy

well motor is together

it works
but hi lo switch is broken
it still works w trouble sliding as piece of plastic is gone

so needs a switch
needs parts to complete exhaust cap cover like the handle & gasket

needs secondary filter rubber gasket & screen

then it would be whole

not bad I guess especially since motor is the most important part

may use parts from the newer machine w the rusty motor to test it complete
& work on derusting that motor while its apart

took the 78 filter quuen apart to get wiring
so now I see I need a top filter & I;ll clean that like new while its apart

this unit has now had everything inside the motor cleaned all gaslets
$ gorilla glue fixed that break in top motor gasket almost like new

here it is with its new long 30 foot bissell 12 amp vac cord

Not bad for a novice...

on off switch doesn't shut it off

maybe its broken or its sort of hard wired wrong
copied the 78

hi lo switch is broken though so maybe the missing part is not making the contact

still I checked wiring on the on off switch & its correct

oooh well

now got really good suction on low & you have to pull plug to shut it off


add on off switch to list

what goes wrong with step on switch?
can get that for $5 from total vac

well its operable

my hose, secondary gasket rubber n screen & exhaust cap

I'll clean the others thru n thru
now that I know how

maybe pop in the switch from the other one

I had the switch out
its simple but have to rewire it
then I;ll know if its the switch or what

It looks nice & it has great suction
even if it says its on low
it sucks the rug off the floor...

4 the electrically inclined

i matched the wiring to the 78 with similar motor

it was the hot wire of power cord on outer black wire of step on switch

opened the newer model & to my surprise the hot power cord wireis attached to the other black wire on the inside side black wire of the push switch

odd as both these units push switch works
so I am wondering why the difference
