Hey Zach, nice collection of FQ's!!! If you ever want to part with that 200a, you let me know....Also, do you have any info about this model (what years they were produced etc)?? Thx.

Hey Rob - nice to see another collector relatively close by.

There are two different styles of attachments that came with the 200A. One style has a simple rectangular slot that the latch drops into while the other have a sort of a V shaped groove with a larger round hole in the end. When the button is depressed the shaft can pass through the groove but when it comes back up the circular end seats into the round hole holding the attachment in place.

If you ever get out this way give me (Moose Jaw, SK) a yell so I can fill your car up with some of my spare stuff and clean out some of my storage space :)

Hi Doug -

What I basically have is the canister unit, and thats it. Its missing the exhaust cap and the motor is burnt out. It was my grandmas and I have fond memories of using it when I was a kid. If you have any 200A parts that you would be willing to part with to aid in my restoration, that would be great..also, do you have any info regarding production dates for this model...this info is very hard to find.

Many thanks,
Rob

According to the information I have the 200A was made from 1949 to 1951. This is the one I have in my collection. I also have the dolly for it but its not in the picture.

Just looking for a little more info - what was the difference between the US and Canadian 200A's? I know the US one was manufactured by Royal, mine says 'Walters Appliances Toronto' on the ID tag. Were the motors the same? I have seen a FQ model 200 on e-bay, is this the model prior to the 200A?

FQ model 200A.

I have an all chrome FQ model 200A made in Toronto Canada. It is my understanding that this particular model was made in 1939. It was the very first FQ model as a canister. The all chrome model I have was a specialty FQ and because it was all chrome and not the tan and brown colour, it was used as a gift for the person who had the highest sales of FQ for that year.

I was wondering if it would be possible for someone to post a picture of the underside of the exhaust cap, as well as the inside of the blower housing as seen with the cap off...trying to match up an exhaust cap, mine is missing.

BTW beerad, I have seen your youtube video of that chrome 200A...it is the best looking FQ I have ever seen. The rarest of the rare!

Sounds good, looking forward to the pics...if anyone has one for sale, please let me know (or any spare parts).
