While using the felix for work, I sucked up a bunch of mulch material. It probably either tore the bag by going into it or due to the weight of the vacuum. Thus, after a short while, I lost all suction since it all went into the motor protection filter.

After using another vacuum to clean out that filter, I kept working. Later, I took off the outer filter, and had some dirt and sand at the top and bottom.

I decided to take it all apart to clean it out. Figuring it out was fun. I hope it comes back together.

Should add I was using those paper bags that crucial vacuum sells; they aren't that good. I don't like the cloth ones either - they skimped out of the top material which easily leaks dirt when the bag starts getting filled.

Ahh, that sucks, but it should go back together no problem. It is a relatively simple and straight forward vacuum to disassemble and reassemble, providing you obviously know what you are doing.

Here is a pic. I guess when I say leak, it won't leak when you take it out, but it can be sucked through it while in operation. All the fine dust at the top confirms it.

It wont kirbyloverdan, if you didn't skimp out and use cheapo bags.

You won't have that problem with the Sebo bags, as they don't have that crappy top material. Those are cheap CRUCIAL VACUUM bags.

Frankly I think most vacs are like this. SEBO are not alone. Bosch and Miele copy dust bags can be just as bad. Depends on the brand if you know which copy brand to go with. Mind you I have never tried any other copy bags other than Qualtex bags for SEBO and they're touch and go.

Well they haven't always been, Marcus. Long before you joined this forum and when the Felix appeared, genuine dust bags weren't exactly cheap. Also, lets face it, compared to Miele or Bosch who charge over £10 for a box of 4 or 5 bags, for the double the amount of bags for half the cost price from a non genuine supplier, sometimes there's a bigger deal to be had.

Yes but I'm talking about the present, the past has gone. They are about a £1 each. Very good value. Ud have to be a tight ass to buy non geuine ;-)

Or stuck in a place like I am where I have to wait online for postal deliveries. The local Argos, Tesco and Currys never have anything in stock vacuum and appliance wise.

There are plenty of vacuum cleaner owners who don't always buy genuine parts, Marcus. Let alone change the bag!

Amazon and John Lewis sell genuine bags and they come within a couple of days. If you have a box of eight, if you are on your last one that is the time to buy a box, but that is common sense, hopefully. Like Mark said, around £1 per bag and the latest bags are closer to Miele quality and they last forever.

Well Mark and Mr. Tinfoil,

I just used my Kirby Sentria to shampoo my entire Living room, Dining room and hallway. Now my carpets are as clean as can be. They are also fluffed up so that you leave footprints in the carpet when you walk on it. (socks and barefoot only) They also have that clean Lavender scent throughout the house. You know what? I don't know of any frail European vacs that can do that!

I got 20 cloth crucial bags for $22.30 using a $10 discount, which I though was only a 10% discount stacked. If you don't fill them way up, they will not leak fine dust.

I have no issue getting sebo bags, it's just I have a wife that complains about it. But I'm sick of cleaning out the stupid windtunnel air of all the stuff it gets. I can't rid the first filter of sand unless I put a cloth filter in front of it, then suction suffers.

The bag size I'd get with anything but the felix model of sebo's or windsors would be great, but I love the swivel neck and the ability to remove it easily.

Well I got it back together, but I didn't get the release valve in right so it sucks air out of it all the time.

*Goes back to take it apart again...*

Well there is the numatic George which is a 3 in one, which will vacuum, sucks up spills and shampoo carpets, with proper water extraction, which are made in the UK. There are several other multifunctionals. And no, the are used in commercial settings and actually work.

I however have a Bissell big green deep cleaner which. A proper commercial shampooer which are akin to rug doctors and big home renovation shops rent out, and again, it is a proper shampooer, which actually agitates and removes dirt with water, leaving it so dry you cant mop up any water with a paper towel. Difference is, I paid for that and my Sebo and still only paid a third for the price of a Kirby.

Glad you got it back together again sprockets. The suction release valve is a bit of a pain to get in, they are on most vacuums.

I heard that where I live (Birmingham) is like the fattest city in England! :o
I also watched a documentary called "supersize me" and its shocking in America, like theres MASSIVE burgers there, and like we have 2 litre coke bottles here, it's like either your medium size, large size or XL size? omg i was shocked but wow I wish I could do that :D TBH I eat LOADS AND LOADS and am still skinny, have been doing this for years and years
