How can you tell a 7095er26 pet filter from a 7095er04 onyx filter? I supposedly bought a 7095er26, but the packaging just says 7095 on the box and it looks exactly like my original onyx filter.

My understanding is the only difference between Felix filters is the pattern/color.
So that should work with your machine.

Can you show us what's in the box?

Sorry

I didn’t exactly explain myself fully like I should have. I have the er04 filter that came with my original, but was looking to upgrade the filtration to the er26. However, I believe they just sent me an er04 instead of the A rated filtration of the er26 like I ordered In the description. Both fit my machine, but I was wondering if there are any physical characteristics that can show the difference between the two. I thought the er26 was supposed to be thicker. The one they sent me is not. I think it’s just the er04 like I already have.

As a general rule, if the part looks the same, but has the last numbers of the part number different (especially in this case where they didn't even print the last numbers on the box) it means the part has been redesigned and the last couple numbers reflect that.

Of course, that's only a general rule, I really don't know.

How much thicker is it? Twice as thick? Would I be able to achieve the same thing by removing the outer fabric of one filter and putting two regular filters together? Or is it a different fabric altogether?

No I wouldn't do that. The standard filter is more than adequate for the majority only the severely allergic would need the F9 filter.

I have the 7095ER26 filter in front of me and the barcode is 6 76224 07095 4 UPC printed on the box and 4 012615 000166 barcode sticker that Sebo have stuck on the box. This is the F9 pet filter I've just ordered from Sebo UK. Yours looks like it might be a standard non-F9 filter.

It was a regular.

Thanks for the info. Yes it was a regular filter. I sure wish sebo uk would deliver to the US or the US would stock the F9. From what I can gather is the filter ratings go from a C to an A when the F9 filter is added.

So the other day I tried buying another F9 filter. Found one on ebay and snapped it up. Asked Sebo UK about the availability of the F9 filter as it's no longer on their site to purchase and it seems it's been discontinued. Shame!

Here's their email:

They say 8-10 years?

Thanks for the update. I’m sure the filter could physically last 8-10 years, but after 8 bags mine is ready to be replaced, for sure!

My felix is nearly 10 years old, I’ve been washing it at 60c in the machine (it’s the royale model with the Union Flag which they don’t do anymore) it comes out perfectly. No damage at all, hasn’t even started fraying.

I asked the question at the time on this forum to see if you can machine wash them. The answer I got was no. Actually turns out it’s totally fine. We aren’t all as expert as we claim obviously lol

Didn't Work For Me

I have a 9 Series Speed Queen. I set it to the delicates cycle, hot water, prewash, and extra rinse to give it a full chance.

The interior started off as black before the wash. After the wash, it was light gray and part of the plastic had came apart from the cloth.

I do have a German Shepherd, two cats, and 3 kids. If you have less dirty messes and if you have a front load washer, your results may be better. For me, it looks like I will be buying a new exterior filter and motor filter every time I buy bags.

It was worth the try though.

If you will do that give it every opportunity; wash it by itself, on a 1 hour setting at 60c with a decent amount of detergent

Like I said; mines hasn't fuzzed or anything and it gets rid of all the carbon dust as well. Being 60c, it also will kill off any bacteria as well. Sebo dont recommend it, because it mitigates replacement needs but probably more because its open to user doing 1 of 500 different things wrong and not using any common sense.
