Now that I'm working from home.... not terribly happy about it. I'm eating lunch at home.
I thought some "favorites" might be fun. Feel free to "add".
Do you have a 'regular', favorite special lunch?
I've started making iced tea again. My late aunt, (Convertible 1076) used to make it DAILY. Lots of people were in and out of that busy house. They loved her "tea". I realized, later, that this "Pittston Hospital iced tea" treat is what she made. She volunteered there, probably where/how she got hooked on it. All presumed the "formula" went with here when she died.
Some love it, ask for it. Others don't care for it, or foe me, for that matter.

My lemonade is good, just not as good as the tea.
so? salad, soup, sandwich?? What do you do when you "do lunch"?

Since I have lost over

110 pounds it was all to food allergies, now I have a veg and gluten free wraps from Aldi's. 1 is just enough and I don't feel sick afterwards.

My favorite lunch would be a good croque monsieur which I guess is just a glorified hot ham and cheese sandwich. The addition of the cheese sauce elevates it to something special though. More typical for me would be a French dip (which my buddy Nick hates and says who wants a wet sandwich?) or a club sandwich. Just no "salad" sandwiches like chicken salad, tuna salad, egg salad, etc. Mayonnaise is straight from the devil.

"Wet sandwich "

Reminds me of watching these baking shows and the judge complains about a "soggy bottom" no one wants that! And the other judge asks "is that from personal experience" and the answer was "that's an entirely different show!"

I have been doing a lot of healthier choices. But at the same time being at the restaurant we have been having test kitchen days sampling new food for the new menu coming out. LOL

But in general I have been doing a lot of salads on the days I work from home. Quick and easy. I have been trying to get rid of the pop so to speak. My go to was Diet Coke but now I'm drinking more of the Sparkling Ice or just a glass of water either with Mio drops or just water. LOL If I go with any pop it's now 7UP products.

I do a lot of snacking through the day which seems to help also.

Turkey with lettuce and tomato and pickles, maybe a slice of cheese fixed as a sandwich or wrap, depends on my mood. Bread must always be toasted.

Every now and then I go off bread so having the turkey with some turkey pepperoni and maybe a slice of cheese zapped lightly in the micro along with some everything bagel seasoning makes a healthy lunch. Sometimes I add a little olive oil and balsamic vinegar to this combo.

For a low carb option, I sometime make scrambled eggs and egg whites, diced tomatoes, some shredded cheese, 3 chicken or turkey sausage links (the small breakfast sized ones) sliced up in the scramble and it’s very good, usually sprinkle in some taco seasoning for flavor. Virtually no carbs. Add whatever veggies you like to it if you like more flavors and variety!

I have genetically high triglycerides so I try to eat healthy for that purpose and also try to keep carbs low as I like to workout regularly at the gym 3 times a week and stay fit. I only have one body so I need to take good care of it, though with covid, that’s off the table and at home workouts are in until this thing is gone or we have a vaccine.

First, congrats to Mark on the weight reduction!

In the cooler months of winter I like having like soup and crackers, stew,a bowl of chili beans with a little diced onion and cheese on top,I don't care much for fast food but I will stop for a Philly Cheese and steak sandwich with grilled onions now and then. Warmer weather, if at home I may make a burrito, chicken or vegetarian, or a salad with toppings. I am lucky in that I can and do eat anything I want as much as I want and the scale never registers over 150lbs. 6ft. tall 30"waist, so fixing a peanut butter/banana/avocado sandwich on lightly toasted whole seed bread is not unheard of! Leftovers from last night's dinner are fair game. Lemonade, ice tea, sparkling water, coffee. Now I'm hungry...

Chicken salad sandwich with lots of lettuce and tomato........and the bread has to be toasted......and plain potato chips. Iced tea to drink. Also BLT's too.

Other than bacon, I just won't eat pork. I don't know why I'm OK with bacon but anything else pork I just can't bring myself to eat.

I love a good cold meatloaf sandwich, with lettuce & mayo, and if you use oatmeal as the binder, it helps keep the cholesterol buildup down.
Don’t forget grilled cheese sandwiches. They’re especially good with tomato soup on cold days.
You can also cook some boneless chicken breasts and shred them. (Try a mixer! It shreds instantly.)
You can make chicken salad sandwiches or just put it on a salad, or stir in some bbq sauce and have shredded bbq chicken sandwiches. There’s a buncha stuff you can whip up with a bowl of shredded chicken in the fridge.

My at-Home lunch choices?

Well, PB&J is always a good and handy choice. I also keep a good stock of deli meats and cheeses (usually Cheddar, Swiss, or Provolone) on hand as well as several different varieties of canned soups and several cans of boneless, white meat chicken breast. I love this made into a quick chicken salad which I either eat on crackers or on toasted Trader Joe’s Canadian White bread.

Sometimes, just some fresh cut-up fruit and cheese makes a good lunch for me as well.
