Here You Go Charles

Just happened to have her upstairs for the Filter Queen weekend! Think I'll keep her up for my daily driver on the first floor for a while. The new 31 is going in my sewing room always at the ready for all those loose threads.

Actually mine

didn't have any tools when I bought it on eBay last year, only the power nozzle, and it is original. I found a seller on eBay offering complete sets of tools for a good price and I ordered one. The set he showed in the auction were black. The seller emailed me and asked what model I had, so I replied with model and serial number, and the grey tools arrived. I was very happy he matched the color. He even threw in the crown at no additional cost. I think mine originally came with the grey upholstery nozzle, but he may not have had one and sent the chrome one instead, but I'm not gonna complain! :-)

The Princess (II & III) is among the most beautiful vacuum cleaners ever. And powerful!! I remember when Billy-I'm-Not-Mad Lipman got one back in the early 1990s he was so excited he called me on the phone to tell me about it, just beside himself about what great suction it had.

I had one once upon a time but I sold it on eBay. It was like new, hardly used, even I barely used it because I've just never really been wild about canister machines. I've also never been crazy about machines with curved wands. Just a personal preference. I don't care for the Air-Way or Fairfax for the same reason.

It had the power nozzle and all the stuff, including the literature and a big box of the cones. Didn't have a 10-ft hose, though, just standard length. It ran like a champ. And I got all new filters and installed them, so it really was like new. The buyer came by and picked it up.

Well, a couple of days later the lady called me all irate saying the machine was "no good" and it "ruined" her rug. She claimed that when she turned it on, "a big cloud of dirt exploded from the top of the machine and then it burst into flames and stopped running."

She wanted her money back of course. And of course I told her to stick it -- I knew there was absolutely nothing wrong with the machine. I asked her what she had been using it for and she said "just inside my house."

But then I heard her husband say something in the background about plaster and she went "SSSHHHH" --- so I knew then that she was trying to scam me. Probably tried to sweep up a bunch of plaster or plaster dust, possibly forgetting to put a cone inside, and the machine got all clogged up and she thought it was ruined.

She left me negative feedback but I complained to eBay about it and they actually removed it. Ah, eBay. A laugh a minute isn't it.

I also used to have a tan two-speed just like the model that you and Tania got, with every imaginable attachment and extra option including a rare commercial-sized floor brush.

I loved that machine, s-shaped wands and all. It was one of the vacuum cleaners that "Jason-Alexia-Tony-Neufelder-Dumont" in Florida scammed me out of. There is only one person on this planet whom I will go to my grave hating, and that's "Alexia."

Looks like you all had a fabulous weekend.
Kudos to you!!
I have the model 31 I got from Greg N.
It's in great shape ... just needs a new cord for the cordwinder.
Need to get ahold of Mike Rogers ... the renowned FQ and Royal dealer.
It's on my list .... the infamous list.
So fun finding NIB finds.
Thanks for sharing!!
All the best!!

Thanks Fred

So great to see the new filter queen ! Plus Tania and your self. It seems like I have been out of the loop for years. When it has been about 9 months.
So good to see good vacuum folks enjoying a wonderful, brand
new, 33 year old machine !

Great pics, those are beautiful finds. Dan Pontow bought one and I have it here at my house waiting for him. I haven't even opened the boxes! That's willpower! He's coming in a couple of weeks for a visit and will be united with his. I have that model and also a Princess III which is my daily driver canister. Love that machine! I was fortunate enough to pick up a like new extra original hose for it at the last convention, just in case I wear the first one out. If I remember correctly, I think a vacuum dealer in my hometown sold the Princess III's for 499.00, anyone know for sure?

Nice!

What heartwarming pictures you have shown here. Tonia is a very pretty lady, indeed. Thanks for sharing!

Well.................I got bitten by the bug again too! I called Ruth today and she had one NIB Filter Queen 31 left and I snatched it up.

I had one before and like an idiot, I sold it on ebay and it was the best FQ I ever had and the only one I really liked.

Fate has smiled on me and another one will be coming my way!

I've uttered those words many times, but to no avail!

My goal was to find new homes for several machines when everyone was here over Labor Day weekend but here we are with two additions! The first was the Saniway from the store we visited in Norfolk. Tania had told me about the machine and when I saw it, that was all it took.

The Saniway is on the lower shelf, a beautiful cleaner in great condition. Tania and Duane gave it a good going over and made it shine! (Look Tania - I have my AirWay bumper and crevice tool - thanks again! ;-)

Then we have the Hoover 66 Convertible. Terry and I brought it home the week before from an estate sale. The guys from the sale had been using it in houses to clean up after sales, but it "died on us" so I brought home for $5 thinking someone would want it. Well, oddly enough, that someone turned out to be me - here it is on the shelf with the other uprights. Pat spent some time with this machine, cleaning and polishing - it turned out beautiful. I would like to have seen it before it was dragged about cleaning up estate sale droppings! We put a new bag on it and it worked perfectly, nothing wrong we could find.
