When I get the residential Lux upright, I will use the DVC bags in that, but the commercial one I havent let my OCD explode, the machine has already seen about 4 hours of use since I got it and I'm on my 2nd bag.
I have 50 some of the Aerus bags and want to use them in the commercial one, so what I did for the moment I made a template of the filter in the bottom of the bag compartment and cut out a hepa cloth one from a Kirby bag. You can see how much dirt it captures, pretty bad! I don't really mind the bag compartment is already covered in dust.
So what I did is I ordered a pack of the after filters that go in the residential models that have the exhaust grill thing on the front, and I'll cut those to fit like I did the Kirby filter, and that should keep most of the fine dust from going in the motor. I also ordered the optional filter that goes on the side, not that I'm really concerned with the exhaust air in a commercial building.
I sent this to Aerus customer service and maybe they will pass it along and get the cloth synthetic ones they make for the real expensive canister.

I just bought a new Aerus Commercial Upright and I wanted to put in a request / suggestion on the paper U bag available for it. These blue Aerus U paper bags only filter at 94% efficiency down to 0.3 micron, which is fine for people who don't need higher filtration, but many consumers prefer the HEPA cloth bags. I do not see there is a polypropylene cloth HEPA bags available though, and these filter at 99.5% efficiency down to 0.3 microns. While I know there are after filters available to add additional filtration, the Aerus uprights are not 100% sealed systems so there is some air that escapes the motor housing, and having HEPA bags not only would nearly eliminate fine particulate to be sent back into the air, but it also keeps it from going through the after bag filter in the bottom of the bag compartment as well as the vacuum motor.
Are the polypropylene or "Synthetic" filter bags in the U style under consideration for the uprights?
