I'm here.........

<span style="font-family: 'comic sans ms', sans-serif;">Arrived about an hour ago.</span>.

<span style="font-family: 'comic sans ms', sans-serif;">Trip was smooth, although a bit nerve wracking because it is my first "outing" since the accident.</span>

<span style="font-family: 'comic sans ms', sans-serif;">But, I'm here now and settling down.</span>

<span style="font-family: 'comic sans ms', sans-serif;">Kansas City airport is like a maze. Seems like I walked around forever before finding a way out of the terminal.</span>

<span style="font-family: 'comic sans ms', sans-serif;">Got my rental car and arrived at the hotel.  </span>

<span style="font-family: 'comic sans ms', sans-serif;">Very nice!</span>

<span style="font-family: 'comic sans ms', sans-serif;">Can't wait to see others.</span>

8:00 returned home

It was wonderful. Kansas City is beautiful, flat, hot and humid, but very nice. No rain, tornadoes, etc, happened. a FEW snags: on Thurs p.m. Phillip, Shaylee and Maverick were in an accident while returning from dinner. Although the car was totaled, NO ONE WAS HURT.. thank God! You can always replace a car. Greg had a short trip to the hospital, BUT, all in all, a GREAT time.
I've returned with TONS of stuff AND ideas for the NEWSLETTER.. it'll be fab!!
There was a 'group' shot of the VCCC last night. However, in the photo, by accident, I'm sure is a non-member. although he never spoke to me, I believe his name is Evan. He must not have realized that he photo was intended to be only actual members of the club. WE can take care of that for the newsletter, though. For members who could not attend, rest assured. There were a few 'guests' of members. However, your/our dues did not cover them. They had to be responsible for their financial end.
I'm sure tons of great photos will follow very shortly.
Again, it was fantastic to reunite with our vacuum 'family' again.[this post was last edited: 6/30/2019-21:19]

Evan and I already discussed the payment details. We can make exceptions. Although, I strongly encourage attendees to register before the convention starts. So that we can have a head count.

Quite a few pictures and videos have already been posted to Facebook. I will post a few here and on our club website. It was a very fun convention and thank you to Chad Cunningham for hosting.

I also wanted to thank

Bill for demonstrating how to replace the bearings and fan in a Kirby Tradition in his Kirby clinic. Levi also graciously opened his home to us and let purchase Electrolux canisters and parts from his Electrolux collection.

Sean received the Ruth Holland award this year. For his service and support to the Vacuum Cleaners Collectors Club. Congratulations Sean!

Another awesome Convention!

I, and everyone with whom I spoke had a wonderful and yet relaxing time.  This was nicely planned and executed with a few wonderful, unexpected add-ons like the visit to another fascinating local collector, Levi, who graciously opened his home, collection, and available sale items to many of us.   There were no negative issues whatsoever; everyone in attendance clearly enjoyed themselves and played nicely

It was a treat to have some guests that added/contributed to the camaraderie  (Perhaps they will join?)

Many thanks again to Chad, the Board Members, and everyone that contribute to VCCC Convention 2019!

Visiting the Truman home in Independence and a visit to the Overland Park 1950's All-Electric house were definitely a bonus I had not even contemplated.  Thank you, Ken H for arranging that!

Hard to believe that it's actually OVER

It truly is awesome to get to the hotel and see the group slowly arriving, assembling everything. It truly is like just "picking up where we left off" last time. We did miss Rick Asquith and Michael Turner. YOU both were MISSED a lot. Chad's home and collection and luncheon were fantastic. It was great to meet new people, too.
Bill Edstrome's Kirby Clinic was nice as well. (Sorry I was unable to assist this year. I was busy with tickets and tabulating contest results. NEXT year, I'll break out brand new 'garb' and be ready to help you again.
