I am considering buying a used one produced to run on 220 volts and euro electrical plug.

I had considered replacing the motor but noticed the price for a new & used 110 volt motor.

I have made an offer and would probably end up using it for parts..switches, cord reel, hose, 2 of the 3 attachments and some body part in the event I find another s512.

I read that I could plug it into a 110 volt socket, but it would not run at the speed that on-board motor was designed to run.

I really should resume working on a Rexair B which I am in the middle of replacing the cord and plug.

Update..

I got it for a great price. After watching videos, successfully dismantled it to remove the motor. Everything else is in great shape. Except, they dumped the bag dock when they last disposed of the dirty bag.

So, this is definitely a part vac.

Miele S512 revival...sort of...

A friend gave me a Velvet canister which looked really bad. To make a long story short, I transferred all the electrical wiring and motor from the Red Velvet to the Baby Blue suction only Euro. Vac and now I have a hybrid S512. I got the idea by looking at both chassis' and noticing they were identical. All I had to do on the Euro. vac was punch out a hose plug port which was already part of the design.

Runs smoothly and quietly.

Velvet Miele

I don't know what substance** Miele designers were sniffing at the time, but that covering must be one of the most impractical ever conceived.

** Maybe they were sniffing the glue which sticks the velvet covering in place?

Rolls_Rapide...

that reminds me, Google the source of the phrase, Mad Hatter or Mad as a Hatter.

About the Miele, I realize I already told this story. Oops.

If I were you I would consider buying a voltage Transformer. It will cost about a quarter what the Miele parts will be to change everything out.
I have a friend who runs a European Hoover and a couple of European Dyson's on one without any trouble.
