Eureka vibra beat

I've had it!!! The kids have destroyed their last powerhead!!!! That being said, does anybody have a vibra-beat nozzle they would sell? I'd like to get ahold of a white/beige one, but color really doesn't matter. I'm going to pair this with an old, dented up "princess" I have, and this is what they are going to use, provided I can find one. Any help would be greatly appreciated before I blow my top and wring a kids neck!!!! LOL

Why not get them...

on Oreck restaurant quality carpet sweeper with the rubber blades? If they are destroying power nozzles, it's because they don't care about anything but surface dirt. If they complain about not having a vacuum, eventually, then give them another after passing a written test on vac care and maintenance. If they never complain, so what?

My guess is they will think the sweeper is cool because it is non-electric, fast, and will pick up stuff a vac won't without damage

Do what my parents did - if I tore up anything I'd been instructed on the proper use and care of, I had to "pay" for repairs or replacement by doing needed jobs around the house at so much per hour.

I highly recommend re-puttying and re-painting window frames. By the time the kids learn to do one of those satisfactorily, they'll be handling your belongings like Faberge eggs.

Doesn't take 'em long to get the idea - by the time I was fifteen, I was taking better care of stuff than my parents did.

We come from a different generation that the kids today! lol My girlfriend has 5 children, ranging in age from 17 to 5. Needless to say, messes happen, so most of the living area is hardwood floor, with the exception of mine and Kristin's bedroom and the girls room, which is carpeted with a very low pile, almost like an outdoor, carpet. Not to mention, we have 6 cats, and a dog! (we are an "interesting" family LOL) The girls do a great job vacuuming the hardwood, but, in their room, which is usually a disaster, they use the powerhead. The problem is, they are too "lazy" to pick stuff off of the carpet before vacuuming, and just suck up whatever is there. i.e coins, earrings, ballpoint pen caps, hair ties, etc. I am going to striaght suction all the way around for them. The problem is, the older(late 80's/90's) kenmore canisters I keep for them to use, didn't make a carpet/floor tool. Only bare floor tool, whick is horrible anyway. In hind site, a vibra beat wasn't much good when new, so I'm now looking for 2 eureka floor tools. One for carpet, and a bare floor tool.

Hi,

There may be a few still around in the stores. They are the same design but made of plastic now. If you want the authentic, go to a Sears and "coax" someone to check in the room that keeps the vacuum department's surplus items. If not, a local vac shop should be able to supply a generic nozzle that will do the trick.

By the way, the Vibra-Beat nozzle was more known for the noise it made than what it picked up. I also think a lot of the stuff you describe as being on the floor of the girls' room would probably not get through the beaters.
