I did not know they even still made these machines!
Does anyone have any experience with this older style Eureka upright? They seem to get good reviews and it had a large bag, beater bars and rug height adjustment. Also noticed how light weight(11 pounds) this Eureka was in comparsion to many other plastic uprights. The replacment bags seem to be easy to find and are cheap to buy.
I was wondering if this along with the Eureka Mighty Mite would be a good "low cost" combination for an older person. They are hard to find as our vac shops don't sell Eureka and Hoover any longer and the big box stores don't seem to carry them in favor of the newer bag less machines with the attached tools.
You can buy both on the Eureka web site with no shipping cost. The upright is $119.99 and the canister is $89.99.
I would much prefer using the 2 machines than trying to use any upright with that attached tools and stretch hose.
The only drawback I can see is it has a short power cord and it is not hepa filtration but the bags are cheap to replace and you would not have to have that messy job of dumping a bin and replacing hepa filters.
I was thinking of this set up for an older person because they are both simple and straight forward machines at low cost.
