I wish I would have kept all our old American Hotel register catalogs--I still remember as a kid drooling at the wide models. More because I wanted to take one apart and see how it worked versus actually use it.

Sears also sold a version of the Eureka Ironsides canister and Vibragroomer power nozzle with Kenmore Heavy Duty branding. I have one but haven't taken purdy pictures of it yet.
Must've been sold in 1990, because the Ironsides were only marketed from 1989 to 1992; Sears catalog uploads are available during that span except for that year. The Kenmore canisters at the time were much more modern-looking than the Ironsides, whose styling originated with the Sweet Sixteens in 1971, so it surprises me that they would have one among their selections.

Found a 1991 Sears Catalog with what appears to be the model-type 4034-B, and a 1980 Montgomery Wards catalog with its "Wide-stroke" model SP8880 in Hot Fudge & Frosted White.

The Kenmore Heavy Duty line as interesting. They were sold 1988 ish to maybe 1990. Aside from a couple of Heavy Duty branded Singer Twin Fan models and a Whirlpool soft bag upright, they brought back the old square canister body from 1974 with the lid that had an attachment cubby molded in and a hinged lid on top. They had black lids, gray lower bodies and a red furniture guard. There was also a Heavy Duty version of the Power Spray and their little Oreck Ironman vacuum.
This is the resurrected 1970 Kenmore sold as the Heavy Duty 3.9 circa 1988-ish to maybe 1990. The hose is also gray like the attachments. The Eureka Ironsides based model is also labeled a Kenmore Heavy Duty 3.9. I have since found a correct gray dusting brush. The one in the images is a Hayden attachment with the neck cut down a little bit to fit the slot in the lid. You can have a nice chuckle at how I back up the thin piece of open cell foam in the OEM pre-motor "filter". It is Electrolux EF-1 media held in place with some 1/4 inch wire mesh to keep it out of the motor opening. Works good. The bag is a Nacecare synthetic HEPA dust bag for Numatic vacuums.
