I think those were from the early 90s... I remember the 'Ironsides' cleaners in the newspaper ads in the Sunday paper.
The year of manufacture should be embedded in the serial number on that cleaner.

Eric - I think you will like that vacuum. The Eureka power nozzle whether it has a beater bar or vibra groomer brush roll is amazing. I like that red color too. I have one that is similar but it's gold. Here is a picture of mine. Let me know what you think of yours when you get it.

Fred - I forgot about checking the serial number. I just looked and it was made in 1992. So there is my answer!

I hope you don't think that gold one is from 1992. My mom bought that same one new in 1978. and she bought an ironside in 1989.

The black one is from 1992. I was talking about the serial number on the black one.



I was only showing a picture of the gold one to show Eric that it is similar to his red one.

Logan, what a beautiful machine! Now that looks like a "mans" vacuum!! Those power nozzles are really hard to beat for carpet cleaning!!

Wow, i was so surprised when i saw this thread tonight....great looking machines.
I was just offered a Eureka canister today, it looks very similar to the last 3 pics posted, it is kind of a chartreuse green color. I should have it tomorrow, I will post some pics this weekend.

By the way, love the Ironsides, i had heard of them, but never saw one...very nice.

Now I'm really annoyed with myself for not getting the little Eureka I saw with the power head. It just had so much cord on it hanging loose, and the head was almost bigger than the canister. It was the only Eureka canister I had seen in years.
