Eureka 1860 HEPA retrofit?
My Eureka 1860 is a dead ringer for the one cleaned up by Collector2. Not nearly so clean, and long ago "refurbished" with added weatherstripping and some duct tape (not pretty, but it worked). The motor's bearing is probably much the worse from not having changed the filter often enough (and the filter itself being so flimsy that a lot of dust must get past it), but it works.
The one thing I miss is that it doesn't have a HEPA filter. Anyone know of a way to retrofit one to it? I assume it would have to go on the output, as there's probably not a lot of clearance above the motor. I wouldn't be adverse to fabricating a housing a la Apollo 13's CO2 filter, but won't bother unless it is simple and durable. There's a limit to my frugality.
