Eureka 1934A

I know there have been a lot of posts about these. I bought a Eureka 1934A upright last year and had cleaned it up, but couldn't get the bag assembly back on because the screws had stripped in the plastic. This morning I decided to donate some things to the thrift store, and found this vacuum and decided I would get it back together and donate it. I found some larger screws and put them in and they held the bag firmly. After a quick dusting I decided to try it out. I had put a new bag and belt on but seemed to remember it was really loud. To my surprise I found that it's a really nice cleaner. It actually lifted the carpet it has so much suction and seems to agitate well, and really isn't as loud as some machines.

I decided to actually keep it for now, because it's in pretty nice shape and I'd like to have a rear bag style cleaner in my collection.

If you would like to get the overall performance improved I would suggest that you order the Dirt Tube and Overmold to convert your 1934A to use the synthetic Style ST bags. I have done that and my Eureka 1425 works wonderfuly. Let me see if I can add the address I ordered from.

Improve the performance of your machine...

With a new VG II brush roll, costs about the same as the overmold, especially when you consider the ST bags you will now need usually sell for more than The F & G type you currently use.
I have this same vac in the Sanitaire version & put an old VG II from another machine (which got the new VG II) and am glad i did so. Look around on the web, they sell for as low as $16 for a genuine Eureka part.

I recommend the ST outer bag assembly and the ball bearing Vibra Groomer II for excellent overall performance. With this setup, Your Eureka 1934A with the 5 amp blender motor will outclean a Kirby G-Series.

for the screws, I saw someone used a small machine screw and nut to fix that, but you said a bigger screw did the job. The bolt and nut idea does sound like a more firm and permanent option for you to think about though. They are quiet with a good brushroll in them for sure!
