Found a "square end" brush roll at the "old timer" vacuum shoppe by me. The "old timer" behind the counter said he had at least 8 of them in the back for $17 each (which is a much friendlier price than what I was finding on eBay). If anyone needs one, let me know and I can pick one up and put it in the mail to you.

Just stumbled on this site last night and found Eureka square-end brushrolls.....not VGII...but the old style wooden with red plastic beater bars.....in case anyone is looking.

Cleveland Wood Products makes some square-endcap brushrolls for Eurekas. Even all-brush ones!

I have heard great things about CWP Brushes.
