I was wondering if you guys had any hoover elite/sprint/runabout (elite style machine) ads or n.i.b pictures? and anyone who has an elite for sale possibly?

thanks. :)

Elites Are One of My Favorite Hoovers!

So whenever I see a NIB listed on the Goodwill website or on eBay, I save the pictures! I also have one ad and a few brochures. First is the NIB picture, which I got from a Goodwill auction page. How I would love to find one of these! Could you imagine the fun unwrapping a brand new Elite!?

Awesome!

Thanks, big help!! :) I also found this for auction but sadly it ended, but I figured I'd save the picture for kicks. This is one of my favorite elite style machines!!! This is a hoover sprint, which is the same thing as the hoover runabout, encore supreme, etc.

Those style of soft-cover elites are all over the place here. I would buy some if any of them had a complete set of attachments. Hoover changed the color of the attachments on the Elites too often, and I do not want replacements. I need to real deal; like I bought it new in the 90s.

Anyway that Sprint is very nice. The nice things about those models is that they were all soft-cover bags. Then I can see and feel the bag inflate! I prefer the hood they used on the box I posted. My parents had one of those when I was younger, plus they were the more deluxe models. There are two Elite models I'm after. The first is this gray Elite II one I saw a Goodwill two years ago. It said "Dual Purpose" on the bag. I really wish I had gotten it. The other is the original green Caddy Vac from 1999.

Here's another brochure you should enjoy. It's an early Elite II with the same hood you posted. One thing I always enjoyed about these Hoover products pictures were the living rooms they used to take pictures in. My favorite shot is always the edge cleaning picture. I love the wooden baseboards! The rooms just looks so warm and inviting, just like a Hoover! I have no idea why I like it so much, but I do. If I ever get a house with baseboards like that, I will be taking lots of pictures!

No, they all use the same motor. There were many variations of the motor as to how much electricity it drew. I lowest I know is 5amps, but they went all the way up to 12amps later in the run. The other thing is that the Dial-a-Matic was a bypass motor Hoover, but all the Elites were direct air. I also think the bases were the same across all the models. I've been able to switch out hoods and motors from models years apart perfectly.

Hoover Sprint

My grandma actually owns the Hoover Sprint but she threw away the hose since the suction from it stopped working... I liked using and it was also my moms first but then she gave it to my grandma. She still has it and it works well too!! :)

I owned a Soft and & Light from 1992, and a Bagless from 2000 (my dad bought the Soft and Light back then, years before I was born). The Soft and Light died around 2006/2007, and the Bagless died around 2003.

Something interesting noted.

I noticed on the box for the sprint, it has the headlight cut out, but no headlight. I wonder why they did that instead of just make it like the bottom of the Elite 200?

Here is one I have, I shall see if i can find anymore, hold

I love the Hoover Elites, they look so awsome, I am not really into American hoovers but the Elites are god dam sexy! I would love to compare one to a hoover turbopower!

when I said turbopower I was refering to these, I do realise they had a the American turbpowers which were basically a fancy elite, to be honest most American hoovers in the 90's were based on the elites, and sounded exactly the same? also they looked similar. I guss it was because the elites were good? and popular?

super-sweeper, would you mind posting some pictures of your TurboPower Hoovers? I'm not entirely sure which models you have. I know there was a plain Elite, Caddyvac, SoftGuard, Windtunnel and possibly a Bagless. They are the best looking black vacuums I have ever seen.

alexhoovers94, Just about all 90s Hoover uprights were some type of Elite. They were/are excellent vacuums. The side-in converter they used for the hose was very efficient. You can get some good suction from them if there is a new bag. I have many more Legacy scans if you want see them.

Alex

I don't know if you know, a Hoover that looked like the Legacy 830 was sold in the UK as a commercial cleaner, I remember seeing them in Makro in the mid to late 90's
