Electrolux XXX colors and motor question

What colors was the Electrolux 30 made in? Usually they are a greenish-brown color, but there are pictures floating around the internet of Lux 30's in various shades and patterns of blue, and grey. Anyone know the history there? I picked up my first Lux 30 today, and she is a light robins egg blue.

Also, could someone post a picture showing the arrangement of the motor inside the machine? Mine came with the motor taken out, and I want to make sure I have it back in correctly.

She also came without a power cord. If anyone has a spare...

As far as I know, any time you see an Electrolux in a different color than what was the stock color, it's been factory rebuilt, that's how Electrolux kept track of them. I'm not sure if they did that as far back in time as the XXX.

Before you put the motor back in, I would make sure it works though, since you don't know why they took it out. I have one myself that was someone's shelf decoration for who knows how long. I wish I could help but I can't figure out how to open it lol

That one was produced from 1952 to 1954 during the run of te LX cleaner...which came in those colors.

It's 3 bolts that hold the motor in. It's not rocket science.

I figured out the three bolts, but there are two wires sticking out, not sure where they go or what they connect to.

Wires on motor

The 2 wires go to your switch. There are 2 long slots near the bottom of the switch. Slide one wire into the one slot, and the other wire into the other slot. If you need assistance with motor service give me a holler, at [email protected].

This is a non-Electrolux rebuilt machine. You can tell by the blue metallic paint on the undercarriage. Electrolux used gray or turquoise wrinkle-finish paint. It also appears that the top-cover leatherette has been painted but that's not clear.

New replacement power cords are available in gray on eBay, Item No. 183360621555. The original cords were black and the small Edision round plug.
They also what appears to be a nice chrome style cord winder also on eBay for the XXX (30), Item No. 153134841771. Just type only the numbers into the eBay search area.
My XXX (30) and my LX both have the blue hammer tone painted on them. I have also seen them the reverse way
I have since replaced the cord on the G with the one seen in the picture and I replaced the XXX (30) cor with the ugly white cord.
You can also get the XXX (30) cord from VacPartsPlus (VaccParts+) which is The Henry Company.

Here are pictures of my late 1930's Electrolux. If you notice in the fifth picture the Model is 30 and not XXX as in later 30's. The 6th and 7th pictures are what the motor filter looks like.

Lux XXX

While we're on the subject of the Lux XXX, here's a picture of mine. Came with everything you see in the pic, except for the replacement hose, cord winder, and polisher, which I added later. It also had a replacement dusting brush when I got it, but I was able to find an original for it. I'm assuming it was built around 1948, as it still had the 475 watt motor, but had the "café door" style exhaust port, and the newer style rug nozzle.
