Electrolux USA Model S, Model F, Model R Small Combination Tool Colors

I recently acquired a small combo tool like the one posted here from an eBay listing--ivory with light gray sides (as Electrolux calls them in its manuals). I initially thought it was for a Model F or Model R, but when I perused Charles Lester's Electrolux information it indicated that the Model S and Model F's small tools had blue-gray and gray holders with ivory sides, respectively (at least that's what the photos showed).

Can anyone provide factual information?

I do

not believe the one pictured in the start is an Electrolux but one to look like an original. Look at the center rubber of the one marked Electrolux and look at the center of the one not marked. The secret of the performance of the Electrolux over the look alike is that rubber. The center of the imitation stiff rubber and will scratch furniture.

The first picture in my opinion looks like it is an original style Electrolux combo dusting brush that was made from Lawrence Industries, who made most parts for Electrolux, when they were marketed under Lawrence's licensing, they did not use the Electrolux logo, the first picture looks like a Lawrence Industry dusting brush going back to the Olympia One era and to me it looks like someone changed the wings from a very late model Aerus dusting brush, you know the recent one that had a white body with blue wings, that is what it looks like to me. Also, knowing Charlie Lester for the better of 30 years, most anything he says is "factual" the man is nothing but knowledge.

To be honest I didn't notice that the first item pictured didn't have the classic Electrolux logo, so thank you for pointing that out.

I am hoping that Charles will see this thread and let me know if there was ever an ivory-colored small tool with light gray wings that came from the factory.

Regarding the Olympia One attachments, were they the first ones that were textured, or were the Silverado's?

Vacman1961, your switching theory is possible, but wouldn't a late Aerus tool be textured, or have they gone back to the smooth surface again? Also, if the sides of the two tools pictured were switched, wouldn't the second one have a different logo on it or no logo if it were one from the Guardian, Epic, or other machine that had light blue trim?

Hi Kevin, no, what I think is they used the body of an Olympia era dusting brush and used the ears off of a newer Aerus attachment, the ears aren't textured, just the body would be, but since it is the Olympia era it is smooth. The textured dusting brush came out with the very last Silverado"s, actually, I call them the hi bred Silverado's, they were built with the Diamond Jubilee motors in them, you can tell them by looking at the back of the cord winder, the gray part of the cord winder is flat textured plastic, where the Silverado with the Super J/ Olympia motor has a metal cord winder back with sort of a shape in the middle. Also, the first textured dusting brushes had the 1205 style Electrolux logo on them.

Oh, thanks for the clarification, Charlie. So you're thinking that there never was an originally-manufactured ivory tool with gray sides? The one I have has light gray sides--very similar to the floor/rug tool's shade of gray (with the gleaner switch).

Interesting about the last version of the Silverados. I knew they existed, but I didn't know about the plastic back of the cord winder or about the textured attachments coming out then. I will take for granted that the Silverado's early to mid-version crevice tools were also smooth. Correct me if I'm wrong. Did that last version have the 'Silverado Deluxe' logo on it, too, or was that just affixed on the mid version? If you have or can find a pic of that last version please post it. I've never seen one!

The Model F and S dusting brushes were not the same color.

The Model F brush was gray and white, and the Model S was robin's egg blue and white, in both cases matching the body color of the machine.

The Model R brush was white and turquoise, the same colors as the Model G -- the Model R had the same combo-attachments as the G but the hose was different.

I agree that the brush in the first photo is a "Frankenbrush."

Also just want to note that while I do know a good deal about Electrolux (the byproduct of obsessing over them ever since I was a toddler), I don't know everything and don't claim to!

Thank you for responding, Charles. I appreciate your information along with your honesty and humility that you don't know everything about Electrolux USA cleaners and attachments. Nonetheless, many others along with myself respect the vast amount of knowledge you have acquired in your research and always value your input.

The more I have examined my ivory-colored small tool with the light gray sides the more I am led to believe that it may have been manufactured for the late Model Fs and/or early Model Rs (just as the Model S had its own color combination). The gray not only is quite similar to the gray color of the Model F's and early Model R's floor/rug tool, but it appears to be too light to be from a Silverado's tool; although admittedly I have not seen one except in pictures.
