electrolux ultralux 120 volts to PN

Hi I have a question about a Ultralux 80th anniversary mod c152e canister vac. This vac is new to me and the power switch on the canister itself does not turn off voltage through the hose to the PN. When the canister bag is out and the bag door is open there is still voltage going to the PN even when the canister switch is off. Is there something wrong or is this how this model works? I can obviously turn off the switch on the PN itself.

I had a diamond jubilee from 1986 that did the same thing . It drove me so crazy that I replaced the wiring harness with a harness from a Olympia One donor machine.

So I stopped by my local vac shop and told the owner my problem with this canister and he said someone must have been inside and wired it incorrectly. I am going to try and figure out how to get inside and check things out when I get home.

Any tips on gettinng these side locking strips out of the body of the canister? I read a few threads but I can't seem to work the magic. I have to check this bad boy out before monday.

I had to teach it a lesson and get a little heavy handed with it to get those locking tabs to break free Now the wiring to the door hose connection has a hot and neutral coming straight off of the cord winder terminals. There is no switch to break power to the hose and PN inside the canister. I dont know if this is how Electrolux designed it or someone messed with it but it seems to be inconvenient to have to shut off the PN and the canister. Sorry for my boring topic but im trying to figure this out.

Good Morning,

This was one of the vacuums that was sold on QVC - At the time it was new, it came with two power heads -

One was a normal beige lux Power nozzle -

The other was a Dark Blue DryLux dry cleaning head that was meant to be run without the machine running to scrub in a dry cleaning powder like capture or Zorb -

The power nozzle will not shut off with the canister so you can scrub in the cleaning powder without sucking it up -

Your vacuum is working exactly like it should - You turn the power nozzle off with the switch on the nozzle - I think the instructions are still on the Aerus Website...

Dan's right. I had one of those and I sold it on eBay. It was blue in color and the power head was a non-headlight model.
