Hi, all.
I think it's time to add a bagged canister to my house. I've never used one, and would like to hear some opinions on these, please. Vintage, 80s or earlier, I think.
My Rainbow D4C is my only vacuum, and has been cleaning brilliantly for just about five years! I like the way it's pieces connect and easily detach. It has no filters to think about, so I consider that a low maintenance machine! I bought a spare separator, and switch it out every time I vacuum, after seeing someone else mention doing that, here; a good idea.
It never smells of all the labrador fur it picks up, and that is the reason I chose the Rainbow. It's here to stay, but I'd like another option. Is there a bagged canister that is similar to the look and function of the D? Function is more important, than looks, but thought I'd ask.
In my first post here, someone suggested I consider a Tristar. From various threads, it seems CXL may be the one to look for.
What pieces will I need for a CXL, since I'm likely to find only the canister on Ebay? What filters are needed, or other necessary pieces to make it work, etc? How easy or not is it to get attachments and hoses?
The house is two stories of tile and parquet, and a couple of rugs. I never use the pn with my Rainbow anymore, so just need something for hard floors, and maybe option to add a pn later.
A bit of physical description of vacs would be appreciated, too--I'm blind, so can't make a decision based on pictures. A few of you were really good about describing the differences in Rainbows, when I was deciding on that. Thank you! It's not crucial, but does help.
Thanks.
Christina
