The workmanship of this machine is just amazing. It’s at least 35 years old and the performance is still top notch !

They truly are amazing machines! I have several, and my most recent one was a Goodwill find. For $35, I got the vacuum, original hose, floor attachment, power nozzle, dusting brush, crevice tool, bags, etc. The only thing that didn't come with it was a mini nozzle (Sidekick) or the rug washer like you have there. When I got it home, I put a new bag in it and fired it up.....that old motor sounds as healthy as can be, and when I paired it with a newer vinyl hose, it really has the power! You have a fabulous setup there as well! Enjoy!

You really can't go wrong with any of the Electrolux metal canisters.
Your Silverado
came out mid way thru the run. The handle changed to an extra handle for pickup. The Olympia One was the same way. The first Silverado came out at the same time as the Shuttle Enterprise. That was the theme of the kick off meeting.
On your Silverado I saw the setting at 3 bars. The normal setting on that cleaner is 4. When using the Blake tool that is correct setting.

Quick question, I have an Olympia One from my great grandmother, and it's been cast aside for a number of years, but I am having an issue with it. I haven't plugged it in yet or powered it on for many years, but for some reason the bag door refuses to stay shut. I do not know if it has to be turned on to close, or if something is broken on it?
The latch that locks it shut might be broken. You will need to have it inspected and repaired by a local vac dealer that's familiar with Aerus / Electrolux Brand machines.

Without taking the door apart, which is not a big deal, check the following.
Locking device on door side without closing it is the lever spring springing the lever up to the locking position and not wobbling? Do you see the spring down inside on the lever?
On the body side are both screws holding the locking tab tight?
Is that locking tab bent so it is not allowing the door side to engage.
The locking device is purely mechanical only. It is merely a latch and nothing electrical.
As I am a picture person here are a few of the latch and tab.
If you want me to take my door apart so you can see what happens I will.
Let me and us know what you come up with in testing it.

Sorry, didn't intend to hijack your thread, keither , but it is such a minor thing I didn't want to make a new topic about it and bump any older posts off the front page.
I looked at the vacuum yesterday and I made the determination that the latch is indeed broken off. I do not know how it happened, but it did. It's just a rough jagged piece of plastic where the clip would be that secures the door to the vacuum.
I am a picture person too, it's just usually I post late and don't have the time to get the pics off my camera and uploaded.
