looked on ebay and not luck

i have looked on ebay and no luck so far . Anyone have any idea where i could find a motor that would fit my electrolux ZB86 any one at all?

Antoine, you will have to take your Electrolux into a vacuum shop & have them install a Ametek motor. There are certain Ametek motors that vac shops can get that come with the mounting ring & seal.

Electrolux AP motor

Find an Electrolux AP series canister, the motor will fit in no problem. If you opt for the ap 280, you will have to bypass the two speed setting.

Thank you Kirbylux77 and Elux89,
I looked on ebay for a new motor and ive seen a few Amteck motor and though it would do a great job , altho i would need a new seal and around my town there isn't a lot of vacuum shop so im not to sure on what to do.If i do find an electrolux ap series motor i will install it thanks for the reply and have a wonderfull day

Antoine, if you install a Electrolux AP Series motor, that would be a good option. If you do this, make sure you order a new set of carbon brushes for the motor & install them prior to installing the motor in your 86. However, if I had to choose between investing in a used AP series motor & a new Ametek motor, I would choose the Ametek motor. Why? Because the AP series motor could be anywhere between 31 & 41 years old. Just better not to take a chance on a motor that could be near the end of it's life.

If you do decide to consult a local shop & have a Ametek motor installed, a word of advice: Make sure the new motor draws less than 8 amps of power. This is CRUCIAL & very important! Our local vac shop, years ago, told me a horror story of how he installed a Domel 12 amp motor in a 89, & he wound up frying the customer's wiring & switch. Unfortunately, 8 amps is all the 80 series canister's power switch can handle. Also, if the shop can order the motor mount separately, ask them to install a Filter Queen single speed motor used in the Canadian Model 700....it only draws 6 amps of power & pulls 80" waterlift, same waterlift your 86 motor produces right now. If you want something with more power, a Ametek 116311 7.5 amp TriStar single speed motor can also work too....I have used it in the past with great results....and it pulls 90" waterlift, so about the same a new Aerus canister today produces.

Good luck repairing your Electrolux 86....

Thank you very much ROB,
I was thinking of installing a new tristar motor but , i would need some kind of mounting bracket or pl;ate not sure where iwould get that ill keep looking and ill let you know if i have question ill post them on here.Thank you for advising me on the voltage and amp my 86 power switch can handle i had no idea .

Antoine, I was able to find the motor mounting plate for you. I will link it below for you. It is available thru Tip Top Parts, so as long as you can find a local vac shop that deals with that distribution company, you are all set. When you place the order with your local shop, make sure that they include the foam rubber seal as well. Now, when you install the motor, put the motor in thru the bag compartment, & make sure the foam rubber seal is DIRECTLY BEHIND THE MOTOR'S FAN HOUSING. You want it on the bag compartment side. Then, your motor mounting plate attaches to the holes on the motor to mount it, & you mount the motor mounting plate to the vacuum itself on the motor compartment side.

There is also a Ametek motor that is available with this bracket, & it is designed to fit the AP100 to 2100. It would work in this situation, but problem is although they say on the website it has the same waterlift as a TriStar motor, they don't specify the amps, so check that out before ordering it.
